Weekly Flylady Thread 9th July 2012

  • Morning all, and welcome Amy! I'm a new flylady, too, and have already seem to have more incentive to clean. For example, our conservatory didn't look too bad, has recently been dusted and mopped, but I stuck to the lists today, pulled out the couches - and found mouse poo, one HUGE spider and dozens of dead flies! So cleaned it all up, did couches and cushions, bookcases and floor (again) - and that would never have been done until next week (at the very earliest).

Have also cleaned the bathroom and give the shower a good scrub, and usual round of cat's dishes, wild bird food, breakfast dishes and S&S kitchen - and that only took around 45 mins!

Quick snack soon and off to work. It's sunny here today and OH is sorting the shed (he took that big spider with him!) and our cat loves to be with him - gambols about like a puppy!

For any bird lovers, we had the blackbirds and three babies feeding last night but have only seen the noisy, baby starlings today.

Must say to Helen Jelly before I go, that Spag Bol sounded yummy, but I read your comment as 'I love him' not 'I love it' (but I'm sure you do!).

Bye for now and thanks again for this thread.

    Afternoon all :D

Missed a couple of days as I've been busy. Spent Tuesday in school, then a mad dash to tidy up afterwards as Ex-IL's were dropping in Wednesday to see DD on their way past on their holidays and to drop some things off for her. Wednesday was a full day in school and then the school play in the evening (only came home to eat ^ change DD's uniform and see the Ex-ILs) so it was long and tiring for both of us. :( I did take my personal finances and laptop with me during school hours and got a good couple of hours worth of work done inbetween escorting DD around school and I actually got a whole hour to myself at lunchtime to do NOTHING but read & catch up on the gossip :D :rotfl:It felt very strange but loads of people said it was like I'd never been away lol :rotfl:

We're home today as its Year 6's trip to Camelot. DD is kind of gutted to be missing it but Ex has said he'll take her once she's fully functional again :rotfl: Handy for me as I have work today and I can catch up on laundry/dishes which I swear are breeding faster than I can deal with them!

    Hello Flyfriends.

Amy welcome aboard; we'll be happy to give you encouragement and companionship to get your house as you want it. Always remember, it didn't get untidy in a day, and you need to allow yourself time to get it right again - do a bit at a time, and give yourself a pat on the back when an area is as you want it.:o

Working from my own lists, it's bedroom day today; I could do to tidy the top drawer of my bedside cabinet - as there are emergency items in there that I tend to need during the night, it gets a bit jumbled in there after a while.:o

What've I done so far today.... let's see... done the usual scratting around to get Mr LW off to work on time, washed up the brekkie dishes, poo-picked the back lawn, after Mr LW told me Dilly had been outside but he couldn't find the poo (!), put the clothes out of the airing cupboard away, made dough for tonight's pizza, taken Dilly for a lovely walk in the sunshine (I had to wear a hat!!) and kicked off a loaf in the BM. Doesn't sound a vast amount, but I'm still working one-handed, so not doing too badly, I guess.:o Oh, and I've had a cheese'n'cucumber sandwich by way of lunch.:D
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Hedge cut and also the wire of the new hedge cutters by DS1!

Half of it cleared up but lunch time now and then DS2 and I will collect the rest up and a trip to the dump to get rid of it all.

Not sure DS3 is actually that ill now so he can do maths for the rest of the afternoon.

Must ring my mother in a minute about fracture clinic tomorrow.

Let's see if there is anything quick on my list I can do.

thanks for all your lovely comments - she had a fantastic time.
I also had a chance to catch up with some parents - used to see them all the time when they were at nursery! Found out that the bloke across the road who gave me some verbal (and I did contact the police at the time) has already been cautioned, having attacked his SIL so am happier as I now know they know he is irrational and aggressive.

Have done stuff I like today - but of slash and burn in the garden and picked the blackcurrants which are now jam!

Taking DD to guitar lesson shortly and taking strapless bras back to M&S to claim a refund under SOGA as the straps had to be WRESTLED from them (set of two) and wouldn't detach easily. And it was nigh on impossible to fit invisible strap.

ExOH has dropped his contribution down to CSA minimum - funny that - though he would have ben paid for last week...
(I KNEW he would stop paying as soon as. Ironically he could have transferred to steel city but intends to find work 'near home' and he's 'not going to travel'. And he lives in a nearby town with high unemployment - that'll work then - unlike himhmm.gif)

    Hi all,

Been out with a friend all morning with tots, so not much done here although I did clear kitchen dailies before we left. Grabbed a bit of shopping on way home for weekend, and have chucked tots out in garden. Lol, I gave them a huge bucket of water half an hour ago, two very small cups, and told them the plants were thirsty, they are still trotting backwards and forwards, I've refilled the bucket, no one is pushing, or whining, so we a all happy! Yaay!

Their rooms are beds stripped and remade, and floors hoovered. Will look at the windows later. Going to make some pasta sauce for their tea. Had two loads out on line this morning, which is all dry, sorted, folded and day to away except the few that need the iron...

Still haven't sewn those buttons back on!
