ronmiel has given some stuff for HK and Sing but I'd say have a walk around Raffles Hotel even go up to the long bar but the Sing Sling is a swizz and not worth the dosh.
In HK you might try the 11am ferry to Lamma Island from Central iirc. Great views and when you get to Lamma have a seafood lunch, not expensive and then get the ferry back.
Night views of the Peak and HK Island from Kowloon are better than the views of Kowloon from the Island. If you can find your way to the top of the four story car park at the back of the Prince Hotel then that's the place to view the island from.
If you like a thrill then a night's Horse Racing at Happy Valley is amongst the best fun you can have. Pre Book a table at the Stable Bend Restaurant not expensive, good food, great view and betting windows adjacent if you want to have a go. You won't regret it.
Or take a double decker, front seat upstairs to Stanley. More thrilling than any ride at Disneyland.
Or take a minibus from Choi Hung MTR to Sai Kung and have a seafood meal at one of the many restaurants on the sea front.
Back to Singapore, if you like indian food then a banana leaf fish head curry at one of the many restaurants in Race Course Rd is memorable, try Muthus or the Banana Leaf House.
Walk around Little India and see all the gold shops.
China Town is also worth a visit but don't eat there.
Newton Circus can be a tourist trap but if you forget the touts and just eat the local food, not sea food there then you'll have a good time as the atmosphere is great.
A cheap hour or so can be had by taking the MRT from City Hall to Clementi and then transfer to the No 7 bus, double decker top front seat for the ride back to Orchard road. Bus and MRT in same complex at Clementi so easy transfer. The MRT is through the tree tops on this stretch and through local Housing estates while the No 7 bus is through the ex pat housing areas along Holland Rd and past the Botanic Gardens. This trip will show you both local and ex pat living in Singapore.
You'll need to be fit because jet lag will have an effect.
But good luck. It's your money. Except if it's the governments.0 -
Are you severely limited for time too?
If not miss KK and head straight to Sandakan. Take in turtle island if you can, and rather than fly - Take the bus between the two making your way up Mt K if you can
not in big rush week Sarawak, week Sabah.
Air asia sale flight inbetween (24MYR):D
Have seen the turtles on Palawan is turtle island still worth a vist as I can only seem to get organised tours there and not keen on that.
Do you know if the train in Sabah is still running?
Thanks for info0 -
There is soooooo much to do in Singapore it would be difficult to fit everything in to just 2 days.
Singapore Zoo whilst well worth a visit is way to the north of the island and can be very tiring in the heat. You would probably need the best part of the day for this particular trip although a late afternoon visit could be combined with the very enjoyable and unique night safari.
The Duck Safari from Suntec is a great way to see the sights but it is on the expensive side and you do need to book ahead either at Suntec or the kiosk on Orchard Road.
The Singapore Flyer is truly an experience but again with limted time I would book ahead as waiting times can be lengthy.
Shopping is amazing but not cheap.Plenty of malls on Orchard Road but my personal favourite is Vivo City down by the harbour. From here you can take the cable car to Mount Faber and then on to Sentosa for the great little aquarium, the Pink Dolphin show and the amazing lazer and fireworks show held nightly at dusk. Some great beaches at Palawan and Siloso
Clarke Quay and Boat Quay are great for eating out and good for walks around the CBD and colonial quarter to see Raffles statue and Merlion Park.
Lau Pa Sat for very cheap Singapore food also worth a visit.
For a very strange shopping experience pop into Mustafa in Little India - 24 hour department store which sells everything under the sun.Chinatown and the Arab Quarter also worth a stroll around.
Getting around is very easy the MRT and buses are cheap, safe, clean and very efficient.Taxis also cheap and plentiful.0 -

Seriously, though, it's definitely worth doing0
