GE Capital Bank PPI Reclaim "Old Account"

Hi folks
My turn to ask you folks LOL.:D
This is going to be a difficult one, I am already aware of that, but I recently came across GE Capital Bank Statements "Currys" Premier Advantage Card Statements", have them all from the start of 1997 apart from the most recent of 2003 when it was all paid off.
I can recall, about 2 months after purchasing a product in Currys, that a Payment Protection Plan & Insurance Payments came into affect on the statements, and can clearly remember contacting them, and they said it was standard!
I had no paperwork to sign, or agreement, as said the Insurance just appeared on the statements, which was why I can remember contacting the business to question this.
Okay back then, It was not something that I'd known about, so assumed that was that then.
Of course back then I was a full time mum caring for young children, no income as such, plus pre medical conditions.
Anyway, before I try to do anything about this, can anyone who have dealt with them confirm who deals with GE Cap One Bank now, is it Santander?
And I know GE Capital bank were not regulated by the FSA until 14 Jan 2005, and not sure about GISC, but believe they were by the FLA?
I will possibly have to try finding out who the Underwriter/Insurer was back then as well, it may have differed over the years.
Any info/details will be a great help for me, thank you folks in advance.;)

On double checking, it appears that the first statement was from First National Bank PLC, it was the 2nd and onward statements with PPI and note it changed from the above stated company to GE Capital Bank, so in my opinion it was added by these when they changed over.
The First National Statements is no ppi, just on the GE statements. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
I'm amazed you still have any PPI complaints left to make!
Sorry, can't help you with your research!0 -

LOL:D, no probs.
It was only because I've been sorting out old boxes stuffed in the back of the cupboard I came across these, and catalogue ppi too, again another unregulated company though. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
