Letter of Grievance help.

Hello,
I was hoping I could get some help with writing my letter of grievance, what it should contain and if it's really going to help me.
I work in a sales environment in a call center and they recently decided they were going to put me upstairs in customer services due to being at the bottom of the quartile in May.
I've really no idea what they mean by "bottom of the quartile" I hit all my targets that month more so than people who have been there years!
They didn't even tell me it was going to happen, I found out by checking my shift pattern on the computer and noticed I was not only changing shift pattern but I had 2 weeks of training for customer services, of course I raised the issue with my team leader and she was aware of it but pretended not to be - since then she has a real guilty look to her towards me.
After which she told me and several others that had only just passed their probation, since may I've hit target every month but they won't take that in to consideration, I feel as though I'm being discriminated against because I haven't been working there long but people who have aren't being shipped upstairs even if their stats are half of what mine are!
I contacted ACAS for help and they told me to write a letter of grievance but I really don't know what it should contain, I've been getting head aches and under a lot of stress since I was told I'm going to be moved to customer services as not only do I get a pay cut but I also get more stress up there.
Any help and guidance would be greatly appreciated.

You need to check your contract of employment.
Im certain to change your shift pattern they should be giving you 4weeks notice. This is done in my work.
You should also clearly ask what is taken into account when moved depts, as the process seems very unclear.
Does this move have a financial impact on either your basic wage or bonuses you might recieve.
I guess what they mean is while you hit your targets, everyone else made more than you did.Promo codes are never always cheaper..... isnt that right EuropCar?0 -
There's nothing in the law that says they have to give four weeks notice to change a shift pattern.
OP - can I clarify that you have not worked there for a year (or two years if you started after 6th April). Because if that is the case, are you very certain you want to rock boats by submittinga grievance when they can just dismiss you for whatever reason they want?0 -
It has an impact on my bonus, I can't earn any in customer services.
In may I made £330 bonus which is the most I've made since I started working for them 11/2011
I wasn't aware that they can dismiss me for whatever reason they want, why is that?
Although I am concerned about that if they are definitely going to move me to customer services I may as well hand in a letter of grievance since I'll be leaving any way.0 -
or you a member of a Union? if so ask a rep for help they should help you draft a letter.
im am sure as well they can move you depts citing business needs.Promo codes are never always cheaper..... isnt that right EuropCar?0 -
Unfortunately I'm not and they can move me if it's for the needs of the business however they're telling me it's due to my performance but I've been performing better than a lot of other who aren't being sent to the service department.
It's my understanding they can move me but they're not allowed to lie, not sure how accurate that is.0 -
When i worked for a large telecommunications company, we were often moved from department to department. We had to be flexible in order to cover any demand in business. This meant we were regularly retrained to deal with a specific increase in faults, sales or customer service and covered different help desks.
Perhaps as you are not performing as well as others and you're currently in the bottom quintile they have decided to redeploy into an area where there are staff shortages0 -

how do you know if you're performing better? Do they publish the departments results? You said yourself that your results are in the bottom quintile although you are meeting target. They appear to be keeping those with better results than you. You would have to be able to prove that they are discriminating against you. What reason would they have for doing so? These are all questions you need to think about carefully before making a complaint.0 -

Pretty positive there are no law against employers lying. If there was there'd be a lot more tribunals.
The bottom line is that you can't claim unfair dismissal until you have worked there a year, so you need to decide if this is worth the risk.0 -
All the stats are on the intranet for everyone to have access to, they're updated daily and you can see all employee's stats.
I have a meeting on Monday about it and I'm going to ask for the proof that I was at the bottom of the quartile then investigate using the proof they've given me.
I feel as though they're discriminating against me because I haven't been there as long as others have, they haven't developed a relationship with me as much as the ones who have been there for longer than me.0 -

you could try to claim constructive dismissal, but both constructive and unfair dismissal can be hard to prove.Promo codes are never always cheaper..... isnt that right EuropCar?0
