Ordered an HTC Desire (android) phone on T-Mobile with free calls, sms & data

Taking it to Europe next week

Will any of it work in Europe?
When will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?

It will work but will be very expensive for data, you might want to consider a local sim card if your phone is unlocked. I was on the Isle of Man recently and got a free local simcard from the phone shop and topped it up with £10, it lasted the 5 days I was out there, phoning home every day and using data.
  • In the EU T-Mobile have various data packages. None of your UK free stuff will be free but you should be OK for limited use if you buy a data package.

    Otherwise turn data off.

I'm checking the booster thing which sounds best because I can sort it before i go - wondering what the diff is between 'internet' & 'broadband'? - here's me thinking 'broadband' is for accessing the 'internet' - i got that wrong somehow?

Im asuming your phone is under contract, and not pay as you go?

If it works with a T mobile pay as you go sim, then you can use a pay as you go sim, and top it up, doing this will avoid bill shock, if you want to use your number for voice calls you can put it into an old ( t mobile or unlocked) non smart phone and keep that for calls and texts.

If you new to sdmart phones and android there are a few things you can do to drasticly cut down on data usage, and save you some money on the way:
Download and install a data usage app/widget adn place this on your home screen, this will give you an idea of how much data you use

Work on reducing the data usage - turn off any data sync ( under accounts and sync) and use an alternative web browser, such as opera mini.

Keep mobile data turned off - if you cant do this form your status bar swipe down from the top - depends on what type of android your phone is running, symbol usualy looks like an arrow pointing up and one pointing down, and only activiate it when you need it..

dont text - email, e-mail uses data, but a text only email uses a tiny amount of data, its usualy far cheaper to send an e-mail than it is to pay the rates for SMS roaming, use your data usage app to see just how little data a text email usues.

Want to send a photo? again send it via e-mail, but before you do use an app such as reduce photo size and take your photos down to a smaller size such as 640x480 before you send them, if you want to send/upload the fuull size photo wait until you get home or can access wifi.

If you have access to fon, either through BT, or via a fonera router install the fon app, and use fon abroad, if you have a VIOP account or Skype you can use this over wifi and cut down on voice calls ( outgoing)
    hope this helps.
