New BPA President Unveils Master Plan for Parking

They seem to have forgotten one teensy, tiny bit about NOT actually having the right to actually give out tickets unless they own the land or have been given the rights over the land.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

We want to drive out rogue ticketers says the BPA. Total bullsh!t. Currently practically all of their members are rogue ticketers because none of them have any right to enforce parking at private sites, a point that the BPA has not been able to counter despite the UT deciding this a couple of months ago. They think that by inventing a category of rogue ticketers that we will be fooled into thinking there is another category of extremely good and pleasant ticketers. Plonkers.0

Those who are legally entitled to ticket should have their own membership forum and disown the BPA and all that it stands for.
Having Councils and PPCs as one happy family legitimises the operations of the PPCs.0 -

or more likely muddys the waters somewhat, and gives the BPA a sense of legitimacy which can be used to confuse the public, and MPs.From the Plain Language Commission:
"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"0 -
Absolutely, bang on the money.or more likely muddys the waters somewhat, and gives the BPA a sense of legitimacy which can be used to confuse the public, and MPs.
It would be rather like having the police and private companies represented by the Association of Chief Police Officers.
Oh, hang on a minute, ACPO already have private companies associated with them. One of them is the British Parking Association who manage the Safer Parking Scheme aka Park Mark on their behalf.
The new president (and her predecessor) come from the local authority wing of the organisation, that is the part of the boys' club that actually has statutory backing (even if there is reason to believe that it isn't as well administered as it might be).
Although we find ourselves dealing almost exclusively with the provisional wing of the BPA i.e. PPC's we should keep in mind that there are a respectable number of LA's who are members.
The BPA acknowledges that it has 700+ members. Given the numbers of PPC's who are in the AOS and those who are ordinary members my best guess is that we are talking of around 200-220 members. Knowing what some LA's attitude is with regard to membership of representative bodies I don't suppose every LA is a member. My best guess is that there are approximately 200-250 of these who are members.
Allowing LA bods to occupy crucial positions (where did Mr Troy come from?) provides a convenient, albeit accidental, set of skirts behind which PPC's can hide. This is the very thing, I believe (obviously I am not alone), that has served to cloud/confuse the status of the average PPC from the outsider's perspective.
However, we shouldn't forget that PPC's are potentially the greatest financial contributors by way of annual membership fees, AOS fees and accreditation charges than LA's ever are. So, a cynic might suggest that the LA's are subsidised by PPC's in terms of membership benefits whilst the PPC's benefit from the cover the LA membership provides them in certain fields like lobbying.
Finally, no wonder full-time officers are so willing to fight the PPC corner. Without their money coming in there would be far fewer officers.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -
Many councils are starting to operate no better than PPC's, issuing fake warrents for bailiffs signed by fake magistrates that don't even exist.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

Have the BPA ever indicated who the "rogue ticketers" are? I think that would be of interest.Thank you for reading this message.0

It will probably be quicker for the BPA to list who the non-rogue ticketers are.
Probably would be a very short list0 -
I always think that "Master Plan" should always be followed by the phrase "mwahahaha" and an image of someone gleefully rubbing their hands at the thought of world domination.
But then it is late and perhaps I should just get some sleep :rotfl:0 -

Agree, but who BPA consider to be rougue-ticketers and who we consider them to be, are obviously two different lists!
Their list -
1 Cowboy Clampers Ltd
2 Nobody else
Our list -
1 Everybody :rotfl:Thank you for reading this message.0
