LW It was triggered by the fall that I had, evidently it only takes a tiny break in the skin to cause either staphylococcus or streptococcus bacteria to get in the bloodstream and cause blood poisoning.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Just looking out of the window and its got very black and threatening outside so I think I'm in for a few showers. My lovely DD arrived this afternoon bearing a huge bag of YS stuff from Mr T's for me and lots of fruit and veg so NSDs for me next week. She wouldn't take any money for them and I gave her in exchange a big fruit cake that I had made for her this morning.I have wrapped all the stuff that I could freeze in clingfilm and now my freezer is full again.(I have been trying to run it down a bit
)My friend phoned this morning and she is coming on Monday to defrost it for me (she is good at hauling the heavy bits out of the freezer bless her) I told her not to worry I have been running it down over the past week or two and now the blessed thing is full again still it was nice of Dd to think of me She said she couldn't pass up on the bargains that were going (definitely a chip of the old block
)
I was lucky that I managed to get all of my washing dry before it got too showery this afternoon Well done to Serena Williams for winning I was really pleased for her
Now all we need is Andy Murray to win for the UK tomorrow fingers crossed
If the weather is rainy we will have to cancel our trip to Essex tomorrow as its not a lot of fun on the beach in the rain.
I made lots of cakes and cookies this morning and my cake tins are full again (won't last long once the boys get wind though:) well time to go and have some dinner I am having the rest of the tuna/sweetcorn salad tonight with some fresh fruit salad to follow (very healthy ,apart from the single cream with the strawberries
:))
have a good evening what ever you are doing and if your in the flood zone I hope you are not too badly affected by it.
Cheers chums

Evening all,
Yesterday was an absolute pig of a day...it rained all day, only variation being heavier rain for an hour every so often..today is dry, warm and mostly sunny.
Got my new glasses this morning....normal pair and sunglasses for the princely sum of €331....paid over €400 for last lot so good bargain....only thing is that I hate the bit of getting used to them....varifocals always seem to take me a couple of days to adjust.
The dogs are having a tussling match under my chair....Bran who is about a tenth of Mossy's size always seems to win, they have been out most of the day so are probably going to sleep for a bit shortly.
Must be time of the year for stroppy OHs....mine is just sitting watching football when he could be sorting his clothes to be packed....but I forgot...that's my job as well as deciding what we will eat ( which he doesn't always fancy) and anything else that needs organising...I've had him for 42 years now and he is getting worse, so a training failure on my behalf!
Had some lovely bream for dinner, one of my favourite fish....also got some samphire in fishmonger's so had that with some courgettes from greenhouse, followed by some hg loganberries with lemon yoghurt....mmmm
Butterfly....sorry to hear that you have been so ill....hope that you are back to yourself now.
Just in the humour to do some baking but no point as it would be gone off by the time DD2 comes from London and don't have room to put anything in freezer, so will have to leave it.
Hugs to all in want of one, stay well and safe

There is still much of the back garden under a foot of water and more rain is expected tomorrow. We are lucky though as houses a couple of streets away are still being pumped out. They were working through the night - the big tanker trucks made the whole house wobble as they went past!
It is quite scary! It has made me think about preparing for bad weather. We generally have quite a few tinned foods in but I don't think we could cope for long without electricity. My brother has an electric bed and 24/7 ventilator so the idea of the power going off for any period of time is worrying.
It has made me realise how few of those "old fashioned" skills I actually have! I am about as far from competent and self sufficient as is possible.0
