Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 7th July. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, soplease don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning everyone :D

No rain here yet. Sky looks full of it though......
No major OS plans here today. Off to soft play centre for DDs birthday party. Might take some ear defenders and guard against the noise
Off to walk to dog shortly. Tea will probably be pizza for kids and I fancy a burger or something for me and H.

Hugs and spoons all round xxxx
Have a great Saturday whatever you're doing :)

Morning Bitsy and all who follow. Woke up very early for some reason so got up and took dog out. Bit wet here but the rain seems to have stopped at the moment. Off to have my hair cut today and then helping my friend with her DGS's birthday party:eek: DD is going to cook so just have to do a bit of swishing and swiping . Will put WM on but not much chance of a line dry. This weather is just so awful and doesn't look like it will get better for a while. Just find it very depressing to wake up to the same every day, let's hope it improves when school is out . Hugs to all in need, glad you enjoyed IKEA Hilstep I love it but it does make you want to spend. Have a good day all.:)

    Morning all

I didn't sleep very well last night, up late chatting and then worried about not waking up this morning! :rotfl:

It's not raining here......yet, looks imminent!

I'm off to an all day wedding today, church followed by hotel reception. I'm going as a friend's plus one as a favour so I'll only know my friend. Hoping to have a nice day, but a bit worried I'll have no-one to talk to at points!

OS wise - quick tidy round this morning, 2 portions of HM celery soup put in freezer.

    Have a good day all

Rain again here but we have had 2 dry days so shouldn't complain. Stripped beds yesterday and got everything line dried, just the ironing to do but that can wait till later.

Decided DD had to do something yesterday so gave her the choice of pulling weeds or cutting the grass so she was dragged about the garden behind the mower - not a great job but it was good to have some help for a change.

Discovered a blocked downpipe yesterday so need to go get some drain rods today. I have a nasty feeling that the drain pipe has broken under the ground so could be a big job.

Hope you all have a good weekend - enjoy your wedding FB, I'm sure you will have plenty of company. Take care. XX

Hubby's been dropped at work 'til 1:30ish, I've set the F1 qually to record, though it may not happen cos of the rain, WM chugging away, DW finished & unloaded, I've applied weedkiller to the bindweed coming through from next door & trimmed the 'hedge' in the front garden, it's a row of lavender, cottoneaster & rosemary all growing in together.
I hope all MSE'rs in floodhit areas are ok.
Plans for today include buying a few beers for hubby to watch the qually with & sweeping through downstairs.
Lunch will be burger inna bun & tea will be steak & chips for hubby, not sure what I'll have. I make sure his diet is meat heavy as he does a very physical job & is working 10 hours a day, I can't eat as much meat as he does.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning all,

We had loads of flooded roads round here yesterday but fortunately no flooded houses. Looks a bit drier today.

Had an upsetting evening last night, a friend hadn't told me something as she thought I would be upset. As it turns out I found out anyway and was really upset as I misunderstood everything. This morning she has filled me in on the full story and I am fine and would have been had she told me in the first place!
Moral of the story: Don't keep unnecessary secrets.

    Still feeling a bit droopy.

    Hugs to all in need.

    Have a lovely day everyone:)

    Morning everyone

Love and hugs to those that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x

Beautiful morning here, blue sky and very light wispy clouds, but rain forecast later! DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock.

Managed to get a good amount of the jobs done yesterday, 1 x load in WM as we speak and possibly I can scrape enough together for 1 more - then all washing will be completely up to date. Did manage to sort 2 hot spots and am intending to do some cooking/baking when my on-line shop arrives, just had text to say they will deliver between 8.20-9.20am so will be any time! Managed to sort my desk and the in tray but need to sort the filing cabinet as have stuff I need to keep but can't fit any more in files, think there's lots of old stuff that needs shredding - will be doing that shortly.

Dinner was really enjoyed by me but DH moaned that it was "packet food" - I bought a 2 dine for £10 meal deal - to say I was furious was an understatement - I only bought it so I could maximise my time to get lots of jobs done whilst I had chance, certainly won't be buying one again - he'll be getting egg and bacon, if I can be bothered. I wouldn't mind so much but most of the mess I cleared yesterday is stuff that he just leaves laying about, ie, paperwork to do with the work he does for caravanning, he has no clue how to keep paperwork in order, minutes of meetings etc, so I finish up doing up that, well I was, I won't be doing it anymore - everything he leaves laying about I'm just going to gather up and keep putting it in his briefcase when thats full I'll give him one chance to sort/file it - or I'll shred it! Think I've been way too soft for way too long!! Made it completely clear in no uncertain terms how furious I was, I don't blow very often but I do now and then and its not nice, needless to say he was rather sheepish this morning! If I'd spent yesterday doing things for myself, ie, having a wander round the shops, hairdressers, beauty treatments, just having "me" time, I could understand his "but you've been at home all day and you only given me "packet food" comment - I didn't stop all day and went out first thing to the bank as usual then came straight home and didn't leave the house for the rest of the day because I was so busy getting jobs done! I appreciate he does work hard and long hours, generally 50 hours a week but I work part time too and do ALL household work, he literally gets in from work and generally does nothing except watch tv and eat a hot meal that I've prepared and cooked although 2 days a week I work 2 full days, he does occasionally cook when we go away in the caravan - he will cook on our gas bbq but he never voluntarily cooks at home or in the caravan or does anything else, DS1 cuts the grass and I look after the greenhouse and raised bed etc. Sorry that turned into a bit of rant, I was just so cross, pleased he's gone into work this morning, so I can have some peace, hoping to feel in a better frame of mind by the time he gets back later. Maybe I'm being unfair but I certainly feel I do the lions share of the household chores/work/running the home?!:mad::mad::mad::mad:

Going out later to eat with some friends whilst they are away in their caravan local to us, be nice to catch up, then we're taking DH's grandad out for lunch tomorrow as his birthday was in June - he has everything he wants - and prefers the company and a ride out to prezzies. :):):)

Won't be flogging myself to death today, will just do a few jobs and will spend some time baking/cooking leisurely.

Shopping has just arrived, so have packed it away and will now spend some leisurely time cooking/baking. May have a go at sorting through the fridge and storecupboard listing the ingredients on one of the foodie websites (can't remember the name of it at the mo!) then it gives u a recipe you can make using those ingredients!

Hugs to those that want/need them, keep safe and well x

    Morning Bitsy and all.

Was up bright and early this morning, leaving hubby, son and the two dogs snoring in their beds. They are all still snoring in their beds.

Slept well last night but oh the dreams! The same dream over and over again. I could do with dreaming about something else to be honest and not pure fantasy (which is what it is ever liable to be).

Raining again as usual, tumble dryer will be used today as ive got a mountain of hubbies work clothes to wash and dry. Still, it cant be helped.

Hoping to fit in grocery shopping today as we went last week on Sunday and it wasnt so successful.

Hope you all have a great Saturday, many hugs all round :-)
