My DM learned when she was 55, took the test 3 times but she wanted it, so she did. Wish I had some of her determination (she's still going strong at 91!)0 -
going into teaching instead of hairdressing and beauty.
Big, big mistake. Huge!0 -
shamed to admit not keeping in touch with my mum, tried to make up which didn't go well and then never got the chance to make up again,
another one lost me my house, but then you take your chance in life, sometimes you win or not and if you don't try you will always regret it.
hey ho at least I have a roof over my head.

What a brilliant thread!
I have two main regrets. The first is horribly painful as I lost my Grandson to adoption. Long story but I wish so much things had been different. ( it was nothing we did to him. My daughter elected to give him up for adoption ) I blame myself and I can't bring myself to discuss it with my daughter.
The other thing I regret is not doing my nurse training. I messsed up two chances and now have Degenerative Disc Disease and so am unable to try again.

He might come looking for you both. Any siblings?0

I really hope he does John Pierpoint.
I was able to send a big folder full of photos of the family and also a letter which will be given to Andrew when he is old enough.
I have a mental image of him of being a little blond haired boy who looks like my Son did at that age. Silly really but as I have never seen him I think its understandable.
He has no siblings as yet.
