Sorry about your car Mrs C, that's awful. : (
Three christmas cakes cooked and now 2 gigantic cherry pound cakes seem to be taking almost as long. I want to get the dinner on!
Not very happy with the school's response to the bullying. They have a 'no blame' policy which hasn't much impressed me after googling it. The boy is statemented so the new Head hasn't mentioned it to him, she wants to get feedback from higher powers. In the meantime he has hit DS twice again today. At least it's in the open now I guess.
ETA: One cherry cake is in my silicone bundt mould which I'm using the first time, and it turned out beautifully! I was having visions of cherries stuck all over the place.
Dinner tonight is Freezer Delight - BBQ ribs, kebabs and croquette potatoes. I dread to think how long they've been in the freezer!

Kidcat,
Thank you for the information on Blinkbox. A bit expensive if used regularly paying for programmes and films so the TV license may be cheaper but I did find some free TV to watch and the site says that a license is not needed so that's great...been mainly watching old cartoons and they are happy as they have commercials at the start and in the middle. I can put up with that so again, thank you."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Loved !!!!!! last night, was amazed at the flax and basket weaving....I want to have a go!
Same here, I know the WI used to run basket weaving classes but that was years ago. I may try and find a class it looked good fun.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0 -
Not a good day today. Have just spoken to the CSA and the ex has paid off his liability order with the bailiffs so because he is non compliant I am now with out any maintenance until the whole thing has to go through all the courts again to get the next £7500 he owes. Thanks to the fact that he is a complete tool who only pays when bailiffs get involved I am now £100.00 a month short.
I knew things were going too wellI promise that I will do my best.....0 -
sorry to read everyone's woes - there's not a lot of good news is there?
Nothing special happening here - every letter I open is about the price of a service going up such that my basic bills are at least £15/month higher. I know it doesn't sound much but on top of food prices it's rather a lot for our tight budget.
Our food bill has spiralled again - we're at £350 for the three of us this month already so going to have to try harder. Eldest heard about the call and collect service, whereby i think I can purchase my shopping online and get it collected from a city store, so going to try and organise that - should save a llittle.
2T I would love to continue to support local shops but it's just not financially feasible for me now - they're just so much more expensive, even the co-op, that we're going to have to travel further more often.
Enjoy your day -it's wet again here but I have a day off!

BB - Ouch!!!!! and just at the start of the winter break (Not a pun!!!)couldn't have happened at a more inconvenient time for you as I assume you use this time to sort out anything needed on the camping field? Hope they can at least keep you comfortable and that your poorly wing heals very quickly.
2T - I think you have to make your pennies go as far as possible in this financial uncertainty and although it would be lovely to spend locally there is real life too. I would buy all my fresh things locally as that would help people in your home area but if Mr.T can send you necessities and luxuries much more cheaply than shopping in SMs locally I think it only sensible to use them and import what you need. Kind of covers both areas somehow.
FUDDLE - Hope you had a lovely snuggle with the new baby yesterday and a nice visit to your sister.
Have a good day all, Cheers Lyn xxx.0 -

You might have noticed my comment that it was all quiet on the campsite.
So I popped into the next village on a yellow sticker hunt at the Co-op.
I tripped, fell and broke my right arm in 3 places.......
So as I'm right handed and as it hurts quite a lot I may be quiet for a while!
Ouch! I hope you recover quickly - that's a nasty one (as I know!)Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Oh the dreaded letter opening every morning is getting quite upsetting, I have got to the point where I cannot think of anything left that can possibly go up.
Money tight this month as had to pay out for household leaks to be fix (no plumber involved thankfully as DH is quite handy like that but needs "stuff" to make the mends with). Also waiting for someone to repay money should be this weekend hopefully!
We were hoping to be able to spend Christmas painting the hallway. stairs and landing as we have been in slow time building a new huge storage cupboard at the top of the stairs (yippee more space to stash stores) but this involved as always in this house a complete rewire of the electrics (M1ckey M0use and D0nald Duck AMCE builders inc "improved" this place - the bodge it and scarper jobs are frankly horrifying), removing the partial dado rail and scrapping the egg shall paint from the walls. Just about at the point where we can think about paint and being able to buy this for the few days off we have over the course of a few months, but now this is on hold unless a money fairy comes along and gets the paint for us. The worse thing is there are 9 doors and frames to gloss UGH!
Hope everyone's day goes OK and no nasties pop up to bite youStart info Dec11

Loved !!!!!! last night.
My mum did basket weaving at night school in the 70's.
I have a couple of the shopping baskets she made.
I also made some smaller items, plant pot holders etc when in Guides as mum ran the sessions.
The worst bit I remember was soaking all the cane as it had to be plyable for weaving. My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
So we’re empty nesters.
Daughter married with 3 boys (12, 9 & 5).
My mother always served up leftovers we never knew what the original meal was. - Tracey Ulman0
