Pooky, virtual hugs , so sorry for your loss and I mean that sincerely.

Can I have a rant please...Hospital car park is free for blue badge holders BUT you have to park then go and get your ticket validated and you cannot access the office with a wheelchair so had to leave OH sheltering, blocking one of the car exits out of the rain, run to the office, run back to the car with your blue badge, rescue hubby then run through the rain with him to get him under cover asap. obviously if we had known all this he could have waited in the car but there are no signs  Then he feels guilty as I am out of breathe so I try and not let him know Im out of breathe - you couldnt make it up could you.

And why oh why are hospital chairs so incomfortable. it just makes me dread him going in for the op next week cos I know Im going to be sat around for hours. There was a lady there today who had her op after a 3 hour wait then sat in the waiting room for 4 hours waiting for her meds - after surgery

Thank you all for listening from a very achy, cold and damp ginny xxx

I went to costco the other day and there is a huge saving to be made in many food items for us, ie all nuts, dried fruits, lemons etc at least 1/3 on most. Lemons were interesting when I came to prep for dehydrating. I saw that prog about wax on lemons and decided that I would take more drastic action to remove, so used warm water and a bit of washing up liquid (I use bio D which is more organic) then rinsed well. The water went grey and manky after I used a scrubbing cloth on the fruit. Then slicing showed me the thick pith on the large lemons, I also did one sainsbury lemon and the pith was thin so the actual inner fruit was the same size on both. The lemons were 1/4 cheaper in costco comparing numbers of fruits[

Glad that you mentioned that Kittie, I asked the question when a chef on TV says add the zest of a lemon to a recipe do they just leave this on the fruit. One of the companies even uses a type of plastic on the peel on lemons but until I watched that programme I had not really thought about it!

Kidkat and PAH, thanks for telling me about PALS, Ive used them before and if I dont hear anything within next day or two I will give them a ring....

Ginnyknit, Hope all went well with you and hubby at the hospital this arvo..........

Im going into town in the morning ,its a 22 mile journey but I havent been since June and hubby needs some nice warm pj s from Primark, bought one pair for him last year out of there and couldnt believe how well made and warm they are, only one problem was that the top was short sleeved. Also need a big shop from Tesco so I will do everything that need doing in one go .......

Have any of you bought any gents pj s from Primark this year? or do you know if they have long sleeved ones in?......I think I paid £7 for the pair last time, I only bought the one pair cos I thought they are so cheap haps they will fall to bits after a couple of washes, now wish id bought 2 or 3 pairs.............

I see in the paper today that JJB Sports are going into administration, not good , but we have Sports Direct next door to JJB in Ipswich and Sports Direct is so much cheaper so you can see why they cant compete..............Sign of the times though......
