Mar - was it you looking for dried veg in quantity? Have a look here, not checked the postage.

Very excited there Mrs C until I realised they don't deliver to us, yet again. Don't really understand it - as it cost the same to post something here as anywhere else?? I could understand if it was over the GPO weight limit but really.

This looks like a good recipe Fuddle - I am going to make these later I think. All-purpose is just plain flour, I guess using that rather than strong bread flour makes the rolls softer. I am forever looking for the perfect roll recipe, I have high hopes of this one!
It looks similar to the 1 in my book, & has the advantage of using more basic ingredients ;-) I'd go with Mrs C's recommendation!

:D They look lovely don't they :T good find Mrs C Thanks for offering your recipe Spiky, reckon i'll go with MrsC's too plus it saves you a job ;):)

You're all very brave with these sleepovers. I have steadfastly avoided so far but DD is doing her best to wear me down.

It's either 2 friends over for a sleepover or a houseful for a party

That is so annoying WCS - royal mail deliver anywhere for same cost why can't they send it parcel post? I would email them and ask why.
I have a terrible problem today. I picked up a courgette in a mad fit of healthy eatingness in Sainsbugs last week.. it's sitting in the fridge looking at me, and I dono what hell to do with it.
Peel it? Fry it? Stew it? I don't do green and I don't do exotic and a courgette is both! Help please! :D:D

My preferred courgette is fried in slices, or roasted with some peppers.

Ok ta. I did get annie last year to go through all this, but then was not brave enough to buy the things. You have no idea how scared I am of green food - it always smells like the caterpillars I kept in jam jars when I was wee. _pale__pale_

Nope,as long as it is is not as big as a marrow (then it prob would be a marrow :)) you leave the skin on.

I love courgette fritatta - aka courgette omelette.

Slice courgette and an onion and gently fry in a bit of oil until both are soft and nicely browned.

Whisk together 4 lge eggs with salt and pepper and add to pan to cover the veg. Cook on med heat until nearly set, finish under the grill until lightly browned.

Turn out, slice into quarters and serve with salad. Can be eaten at room temp, great for picnics!

  • Morning All,
This past week has been so unusual coming home late and walking around some larger towns and cities as late as 10.30pm/Midnight even my own town. And often being the only one around. Also depending on the last bus home...but still here and safe...

But for now that won't be happening. Back to normal.

As we're talking food and I did not manage to leave the slow cooker on whilst out so I was eating...a pork mince casserole at 3am this morning! Cooked on high setting it was ready within 3 hours. So easy and very tasty. I'll do that again...I even had some small slices of bread to...mop up the gravy.:p

    And I slept well too...

Weatherwise it looks a bit "Nasty" out there so I'll potter about and maybe catch up on some hosework later...

    Take everyone...
