    Good morning :)

stiltwalker that was lovely. :) I bet your hearts melted.

bb that was naughty of the booker to book under a false pretence, in fact it wasn't just naughty, it was dishonest. I'd be cross if civvies had done that, to learn that police employers told a lie to get what they wanted makes me shake my head in earnest. Honestly, sefl, self, self.. boogar the consequences.

I've gotten myself so worked up these last few days that I went to bed last night at 9pm and zonked. DH fishing so it's a day in the house for us.

I feel ok though. Back to coping mode. It's frightening how absorbed I get in so many little things that make me feel like my whole world is crashing down around me but in actual fact nothings actually changed other than my ability to cope with it. Is it the anxiety/depression do you think?

Well, DH fishing both days this weekend in the hope of winning something to pay the gas/elec arrears. It's not a need (i.e. I'm not worried about it) but it would be nice to get some more paid off.

We're having broth tonight with a ginger steamed pud and custard.

Fuddle, you've described just how I feel about things! :D When I get upset and try to explain to DH, he very rationally (and nicely) debunks all my worries and says to ignore what I can't change, or do something about the things I can. Doesn't always work, but makes me feel a little better sometimes!

I've finally changed my power suppliers, not much savings but fixed until the end of next year, so I can worry less about one thing. Tried a lot of basic SM foods the last week or so, some really good, even fussy 20 yr old DS says some are better than usual - how good's that? :rotfl:

Was given some free veg this week - home grown carrots, beetroot, onions, just a few but enough for about 2 meals or one gigantic casserole! Got enough veg, bar spuds, to last at least a week now. Have bought some veg seeds from the site someone (fuddle?) mentioned a few days ago, to get ahead for next year. In fact, there's probably enough seeds in each pack for a few years' sowing!

    A xo

((((((SDG)))))) so sorry to here that your friend has passed.

:( I've read about those giant Spanish slugs earlier in the year and dread having any more of the burgering things to deal with. I'm knackered after a tough week and still in discomfort from Weds but will be going up to the lottie anyway as it's a dry day but who knows what the weather may choose to give us in a few hours. I shall find some slugs, usually those whopping great orange ones, and chop them in half with the spade.

Just wish the lottie plots on either side were cultivated but as we're coming up to annual renewal, perhaps they'll be given up/ taken off the non-cultivators and re-let to someone who wants to garden. It would be such a boon in my life if there wasn't grass and weeds 4 feet high on either side hiding gawd knows how many thousands of slugs and snails who commute into my plot for breakfast, lunch, brunch, dinner, supper and for all I know, post-cannabis midnight snacking.

Hehe, I wonder if the Daily Wail understands that "decimate" means "kill one in ten" not just "lots"? If I'd had to sacrifice one in ten plants to the slugs, I'd consider it reasonable. It't the fact that they've taken 10/10 on a lot of things which is getting my goat.

 As Mum remarked the other weekend, Why can't they eat couch grass?!

Still looking at my ironing but I can't possibly iron until I've had my first pot of tea of the day............. and then I may have to go out to prevent me seeing anything which may alarm me in the ironing basket.

Thank you all for your support over the past few weeks. It has been greatly appreciated and has definitely helped xxx
I'm still in shock to be honest, even though we knew it was coming and should have been prepared for the news. I think DH is feeling the same way. I've made dinner but have no clue if it is going to be edible. Chances are it will get eaten, if not there is always pizza delivery.
The funeral is next Thursday and DH and I will be going. The boys will come with us to the memorial service next month. DH and DS2 will be going down South on Saturday and I'm going to send some food down as planned. Hopefully my brain will co-operate and it will turn out ok. Thankfully I can practically make brownies in my sleep.

    take care everyone xxxx

(((SDG & family))) However much you know the news is coming, it's still an awful shock when it does. Love to you & all those who knew Carl.

Starting my order for next month DH pay day.

Need vegetable stock cubes. Asda's smartprice 10p veg stock cubes are no longer on my online choice. The next one up is 66p. :( So just with beans and stock cubes my monthly shopping bill is £1.50 dearer already.

Do you have any other SM near you? Mr T definitely still have their value stock cubes, in my store at least, so you could stock up a couple of years' supply (they last ages - am working my way through jumbo portions from AF which are definitely out of date but fine) for not much outlay. In fact value products are about all I buy from Mr T anymore, custard and rice pud being particularly good. When I do an online order it must be very easy to pick - 20 tins of EV custard, 20 tins of EV rice pudding, 6 packs of the 3 kilo pasta bags which are £2 at the mo.......

P I've decided to abandon the Asda order for Tesco's as they're still on there. I just hope they stay there until I can check out nearing 15th Oct. If I'm lucky enough to get intyo store i'll stock up for sure. I agree too, T EV custard and rice pud are really nice :)

It just shows though, it's starting and set to get an awful lot worse.

You can check out now and keep changing it, that's what I do. They don't charge until it's picked as far as I know. Sometimes I've changed an order 20+ times before it comes. When they changed to the new account system you can also add codes after you've checked out too, so always do a last minute check for codes. There are 2 different 3 kilo bags of pasta at the mo for £2, pretty good deal.
PS. I expect you already know, but to 'bank' a code you can just do a dummy order and check out - it saves the code until the expiry date of the code and you can do a 'proper' order later.
I can't say I've personally noticed price rises yet, but I have noticed differences in my own perceptions where i'm just not willing to buy food when I can get it a bit cheaper elsewhere. Part of my training to be a good OSer I guess.

When you're on Tesco's online P would you see if you can get EV Baked Beans? They're not on mine but they still have EV Beans with sausages available.

Just wondering if they've been withdrawn or just out of stock up my way.

Interesting, no they aren't on there. There's Oaktree Estate ones (which is Mr T too) at 35p but no EV.
