I'll remember that, like for like. Thanks
Been looking into folate deficiency with depression. Looking into my diet I only eat lentils (tiny amount to bulk out food) and broccoli (once or twice a week) that has folate in it.
Some one suggested a site a short while ago by wheezl (i think) that was meal based but got all the nutrients that a body needs. Anyone know what it is and can remind me? I really need to rethink my meal plan because I'm worried we're not getting everything we need through our diet. Until then we all have to be sure to have our multivitamin. One thing is for sure, I'm struggling right now. This is month 4 on my anti-d's and up until now I have been so positive about their effects. Maybe it is because I have a bug too?
I'm sure you're worse because you're poorly, but it definitely wouldn't help to get the right diet. Here is Wheezl' site:

you are right about folate, a very important nutrient. We need about 400 units a day
I am just wondering what I have done, I am expecting an AF food order, (no cakes) and have had to go through two biggish storage areas to make some room. Honestly, I am overflowing with storecupboard stuff. Anyway I cut a couple of strips of card and re packed the cupboards with labels, so now I now what is where. I have various mixes to make my life easier eg beef casserole, white simmering sauce etc but do I use them, do I heck, I keep forgetting as they were in a jumble. Out comes the recycled costco ziplock bags and all are now sorted and easily accessible
Oh I daren`t say how much dried fruit I have, a LOT believe me
I spent money yesterday on 3 very useful sizes of lock n lock that will all stack nicely on shelves under the stairs, ideal for my dehydrated foods. £10 off (JULY12) but I spent £100and free delivery, fab company. It came today by 11 am. Cheapest I could find for lock n lock and have bought from them lots of times. It is an investment and I use lock n lock several times a day.http://www.spicesofindia.co.uk/acatalog/Lock-and-Lock-Food-Containers-Items-21-30.html
Another 9 trays of charlotte are dehydrating and a wash done too so now feet up until AF arrives and then  somehow I`ll have to find places to put it all0 -
Fuddle:- Re your tearfull-ness...could it be that time of the month?:p I get like that a few days before and nothing seems right. It could be coinciding with a bug too.
I am the proud possessor of one...yes just one, tomato.:j

Hi, a few steadying vibes would be appreciated. Am hoping that the small business I work for can survive direct competition from a shiny new business opening this summer.:( Heard something this morning that made me a little wobbly and am endeavouring to get back on track.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

When my youngest is on her trike she would normally be persuaded to avoid the slugs on the pavenment... now, after my mint was gobbled, I positively encourage iteee is that wrong
Yarn pimping here http://www.theskyeshilasdairshop.co.uk/yarns.html# We actually drove past that very shop on Syke about 6 years ago, but I was a different person then and had no interest. I would love go visit there. I shall be treating myself to some pure Syke dyed yarn as soon as my skills are up to scratch to do it justice.
kittie you're an inspiration
Sun gone in and looks like rain so we never got into the garden but I'm going to plaster a smile on my face and get the kids to make a loaf of bread. Wish us luck. I'm normally rubbish but has bread flour from watermill... I'm hoping that will be the difference, other wise it's back to paying over £1.50 a loaf.
Thanks for wheezl's site possession. bookmarked for a good read later. My multivit's only have 200 of folate in them so diet improvement is a must.
My meal plan was designed to be as wholesome as possible but it's boring and repetitive. I'll get there, covering all the bases as well as health. More work to do on it. :cool:0 -
Oooh thanks for the link fuddle
I often use texere.co.uk, as you can see them spinning at the factory and they make a lot of random yarns.
Short_bird - *hugs* steadyoing vibes being sent your way.

The discussion over homemade is not cheaper a lot of the time is very relevant to me. Just last night I was on the phone to my sis, catching up. I was telling her about how long it is taking me to knit the legwarmers and how I'm enjoying it. That I would like to knit my own socks for my next project. She asked how much sock yarn was and I said about £5. She was horrified that someone who prides herself on her frugality (me
) would spend £5 on a pair of socks. I have to say I agreed with her! You can get 3 pairs in Asda for a couple of quid. It got me thinking why and all I can think of is I like the feeling of learning skills, being self sufficient-ish and enjoying the process. It's good to have a hobby right?
It's good to have a hobby, and a PRODUCTIVE hobby has to be a winner. I've mastered knitting socks. Yeah they may cost a fiver...but a pair of decent walking socks costs at least a fiver full price (although I confess one of my vices is stockpiling them when I see them on sale) and a pair of handmade socks is a thing of beauty, they are very comfortable...repairable, and if you knit some for someone else, I think they are really a gift that says "I think enough of you to take the time to make you a pair of socks..."
Also..self sufficient-ish skills are the way forward. One day we will not be getting ten pairs for £2 from Asda or wherever...The insane cheap clothing trade will end eventually and what will happen if no one knows how to make socks anymore? Tell that to your sister from me :P She'll be begging you for socks to keep her tootsies warm then!!! :rotfl:

Thank you everyone for your good wishes.
Short-bird, vibes coming your way ((hugs)).
Fuddle I was also going to suggest it might be PMS. I often feel so down that I am terrified I am going backwards to the depression again, only for my period to start a couple of days later.
Well, the interview is over and I am home again, still feeling sick with nerves. It's impossible to tell how I've done. I did feel to ramble a lot. I did have them in stitches laughing a couple of times but I'm not sure that's the aim of an interview - I hope I didn't come across as too much of a clown. One of the panel was a nurse who works at my GP's practice - the two practices are merging - and she has given me a couple of smear tests, so it didn't help that I was thinking, "Oh great, I'm being interviewed by someone who's looked up my ..... !" She came out to collect me from the waiting room and said, "Oh hello, it's you!" and "I'll have to tell the other panel members that I know you." I was thinking, "Well you don't really know me, you've only looked up my doodah a couple of times .....":rotfl:
Like a fool, I forgot to ask when they would let me know. Also I am a bit worried because this was advertised as a part-time job, but they said they wanted the job to grow and would I be OK if it ended up full-time. Well, of course, I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't be able to cope with full-time work so I had to say so. I said I would be OK with a few extra hours' work but I couldn't work 40 hours/week. If they'd said in the blurb it was part-time growing to full-time I wouldn't have applied. So now I feel as if I have shot myself in the foot (or been shot in the foot).
Oh well, it's over with now so I shall put it out of my mind and adopt a 'what will be, will be' attitude. And go and get another cup of tea ....Aspire not to have more but to be more.
