Last one was all selfish post, have to admit when hubby and I came home and checked on what had happened to Lennox with both sat there crying cuddling our dogs so very hard.

Bossymoo, I am so sorry to hear about your husband, no wonder everything is hard and new, you are doing wonderfully well, coping on your own with two such little ones, sending my love and hugs and if I can ever do anything to help from afar please do not hesitate to ask.

Just been out and checked my potatoes and so far they seem ok and flowers are dying on some so hopefully will start digging some up in next few days.

To tired to start clearing shelves so bags will have to live in kitchen a bit longer, better not buy much more or hubby will me moaning mind you even he is accepting how food is our way of saving.

Hugs, Love and Healing to all xxxxx

  • Greetings from a very soggy Bonnie....

Thunder & lightening (very very frightening... :p ) on and off all day. Mainly on when I was out :o

katieowl good news for your friend. I hope things improve for her job-wise and health-wise.

pah I agree with bossy, keep a couple, gift a couple and sell the rest, then treat the gent. You could put the money into a 'day out' fund for you and DH to give yourselves a well-earned treat every so often.

GQ sorry about the tatties :(

    popperwell loving the smilies!!

Job news: Following the promotion of the current Assistant Manager, there is now officially a vacancy for Assistant Manager. I was 'watched whilst working' today and fared very well. However they have to advertise externally as well so I have to wait to see who else applies and if the powers that be think they are any good / better than me. Hopefully I should know one way or the other in 3 weeks or so if I have the job. In the meantime I will keep volunteering as I love what I do.

What news for the other interviewee today? I'm so sorry, your name escapes me atm but I have been thinking of you x

Smileyt all the very best for tomorrow chuck. Success vibes winging their way to you and keeping you strong and confident at all times :)

I am not a spring chicken. I like to think of myself as a late summer bird of quality

Off to catch up on 'The Secret History of our Streets'.

    Have a good evening all.

    PAH,
it didn't sound selfish to me...we all need some good luck and nice days to enjoy, how often are we able to have them? Usually when working we haven't the time, whem not working(through illness or unemployment)we can't afford to and these days if you try to do something special you feel someone will think it's wrong especially if you are having to take money from the Governement.

They don't allow that some days you can do very little, not get around too well, need pain killers, sometimes have to rest so days like this are rare so they mean so much but you can imagine someone ready to cause trouble, why should we feel we have to stay indoors and do nothing. But its getting that way.

I hear some horrible opinions and views in the media but when I talk to neighbours, strangers, taxi drivers, the ordinary people in the street they talk like we do on here and they are all struggle and many are surprised(because they don't know)a lot of what we know is planned/coming...I mentioned the bedroom tax to someone today and he was "Gob smacked" to use a well known phrase. He was disgusted.

The media likes extreme views but the trouble is some then think that's what "Joe Public" is thinking and often it is not!

    You enjoy!

Ellie and Fuddle - I'm crocheting christmas pressies already too :) there seems to be quite a few of us. My local poundl*nd had some sparkly acrylic DK in for the last few weeks, acrylic doesn't always feel good but great for friends with kids or pets.

Tbh I really shouldn't be buying more yarn!

PAH - that's amazing :) I hope you enjoy using all the (terrifyingly) expensive nice stuff

    Thanks Bonnieemo22.gif

I'll try use them carefully but they can help stop misunderstandings because with text you don't see a facial expression or hear the tone in a voice.

Good luck with the possible job.

No thunder and lightening today but plenty of rain and it's still happening...

I have some radio and tv to catch up on and I'll do via the internet(I have unlimited access between midnight and 8am so I may as well use it...)

I never use all that I am entitled to...so it might be a late night...

    Enjoy your tv watching...

    Evening all

DH has been hogging the computer all evening so this is the first chance I've had to post - I managed to get online using the Wii to catch up with reading the thread, but typing anything was so laborious I decided to wait until I could turf him off the PC!

(((Hugs))) to all those in need and lots of luck to the interviewees!! Keeping it all crossed for you :)

BossyMoo - I'm so sorry to hear about your DH. I am struggling to find the right words to say, but send you and your children lots of love.

Not much OS to report here today - another busy day at the coalface; surely it must be Friday soon?! I am so tired and down at the moment, and I don't think the miserable weather is helping.

GQ - hope you manage to rescue the spuds! I didn't realise the blight could affect tomatoes so will have to keep a close eye on mine. They looked OK this evening (still green and perky!). If the blight does hit, will the tomatoes still be safe to eat/make into chutney if still green?

PAH - wow! What a lovely friend to send you all those gorgeous things - I hope you enjoy them; you deserve a treat!:j

Pops - thanks for the link to the recipes, I will definitely have a look. Most of my Mr T shopping is taken from the value range so it will be good to have some new recipes to try.:T

    Roll on Friday...

Funny you should mention acrylic, of late I have purchased some lovely jumpers and cardigans at the charity shop(some orginally from M&S)thought they were cotton or wool and they've been acrylic...soft and yet warm too.

I envy you all for your craft skills...

Oooo, I will have to go and check my poudl*nd! I always buy acrylic, and I only buy real wool when it is from an organic ethical producer producing wool from rare breeds (often very small holdings run by a family). So it's either very cheap or very pricey :o And I would NEVER give out a present made from gorgeous wool without at least an hour long lecture on how to care for it, etc, etc. And the recipient of my generosity would have to be vetted too :rotfl:

And one never has too much wool :D

Hope you don't mind me editing your post. If ever I do that with any quote, I always make certain I don't alter the meaning of what is said but sometimes a quote is so long if repeated.

I use as much as I can of the value range now and I suspect some stores have more variety than others depending on the size of the store or customer habits/location...

I thought the Nifty 50 and cost of the meals wasn't too bad...
