Shegar - wow 6pm, I have never heard of an appointment so late as you say they must be pushed for time. I think it makes sense, alot of depts close at 5pm and the machines stand idle, meanwhile in order to get to the before 5pm appointments people have to take time off work. Offering later appointments will help loads of people I suspect.0

Strangely all the slugs must have gone to England on their hols
You are right - the wee beasties are 'en vacance' in deepest Lincolnshire . . . I know this because I discovered dozens + dozens of the little swines up my plum tree this afternoon when I went to pick the few plums that the tree has managed to produce this year.
They were definately on their hols - they were there with their little knotted hankies & sandals with socks, congregating in social groups to gorge on my ruddy plums  Since when have these gastropods had mountaineering tendencies and head for heights?:heartpuls The best things in life aren't things :heartpuls

Shegar - my DD12 had an MRI earlier in the year at 6pm. There were lots of people with later appointments than that as well.0

I've had 8pm appointments for MRI before, and that was several years ago in a mobile unit (obviously they were getting the most out of it before it went on to the next place!). Late appointments do make it much easier for people who are working to fit them in, although I seem to remember falling asleep (something I do regularly in MRI scanners TBH, it's so boring!) and not really wanting to drive home...0 -

I go to the diabetic eye screening and ive had evening apps and also sat morn..!!, at thats the same hospital that hubby goes to , the hospitals are so under pressure a round here, waiting lists seems never ending , never mind when you need an appoinment you just accept its timings and get there otherwise someone else will soon take it............
I phoned PALS because I hadnt heard when the appoinment would be , and she told me that they have until Sept 13 to get hubby an appoinment , its their targets, so we are just in on the Sept 13, im so glad its come at last..........:D0 -
We havn't had the rain fall that others have had this year:eek: so things havn't been washed away. Strangely all the slugs must have gone to England on their hols
Still working on DH for some hens;)
Hello Pennib  nice to see you over here. I was showing DH your mini sampler today on your blog. Without even saying who's blog it was he said "that's the lady who did our quirky village and water colours". I'm training him well. (the mini sampler is stunning btw)
I cooked 40 jacket spuds in the end, they're all processed, cooled and in the freezer (aside from the 4 we just had for dinner). My carpal tunnel is bad on my wrists today so between DDs and I we managed to put all the potato through the potato ricer to make it fluffier, it turned out better than just mashed. Now sitting here with my wrist splints on looking longingly at my crochet. Ah well, always tomorrow.
Luckily my parents are coming tomorrow, Dad is going to put some more grab rails in the bathroom for DH as his balance is dire and although I help him in the shower, if he goes over I just can't get him back up, he needs a series of handles to get him steady. I hate drilling into tiles whereas Dad is a whizz at anything like that."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Fayhare - had to read your post twice, first read i thought you said you managed to get a dozen eggs from the pigs, nearly fell off the chair!!:rotfl:0

Wind has died down and its actually gone very warm here now at this time.
GQ the slug had not chance of being eaten by its friends or anyone elses as it was picked up,urg with a doggy bag, tied in it and then two more tied round it then smashed with a stone and all put in bin. Everyday now I am checking in case any of it friends come looking for it.
Hopefully word will get back 'Jock went into that big opening they one with the dangly bits hanging doon and vanished never to be seen again, tis the home of the slug basher that big redhead monster. Heed my words young ones near go inta that place for yee'll near come oot again. A terrible place, a Terrrrible place I teal you'
Hugs and Love to allxxxLMAO, given that I have totalled 500+ in recent weeks, you would have thought that the word would be out among the Gastropds that the 300 square meters of cultivation in the middle of the derelict plots was a killing field and best avoided, but I guess they don't have much of an oral culture.................. My Dad kills himself laughing that I count the ones I get but he is cultivating Nan's back garden which has been under continuous good cultivation for 60 years (the people before my grands, Grandad and now Dad) and he doesn't have the same issues.

It's getting ridiculous. A pal pulled up a plant in her garden and it rattled. How come? Because it was the hundreds of snails lurking in it with their shells clattering like castanets when the plant was shaken. Ewww.

Makes sense to get the value from those expensive machines, although I feel for the staff with such long work days. Meant that I didn't need to take time off work, which is good.
Well, the chili is made and consumed, the remainder cooling before going in the fridge. I was doing my housekeeping balance for Aug from the receipts and discovered that Sainsbugs Basics corned beef went up 20p in between my buying a trial can and stocking up - less than 2 weeks. It just never stops.
Should be busily OS-ing as have some mending to do but don't like sewing under artificial light so will leave that until tomorrow. Still there's always time for a little wander on MSE, isn't there?;)Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I went out earlier and found snails eating the apples on my mini apple trees. I only had about half a dozen apples and the snails have munched four of them .Fayhare - had to read your post twice, first read i thought you said you managed to get a dozen eggs from the pigs, nearly fell off the chair!!:rotfl:
Happy birthday SDG.:D
Had a bit of a rough day. Really had to push myself to do anything at all as I was so low this morning. I guess that's the 'disability' side of depression. At least I have had some good days in the last week but it is so frustrating not to be able to do everything I need to do. Oh well, tomorrow is another day! I did manage to hoover the stairs (I live life in the fast lane!) so at least I don't wince with embarrassment at the piles of dog hair now as they're all in the hoover!
