Sorry just read back and caught up - Elona the book is the Shee by Joe Donnelly. One of my fav authors, but you need strong nerves to read him :D
He does supernatural horror and he does it well. This one's about a team of archeologists in the far west of Ireland excavating what they think is the prehistoric tomb of a queen....
only it isn't a queen, it's something else entirely :eek::eek:

If you are ever in the vicinity of the crown and see and old fat woman with red hair and using a turquoise crutch that will be me - I am only person I have seen here using one that colour ( I have the pair but only use one), and if you want say hi, but will understand it you don't want to......I live just down the road from it......

PAH - I will keep my eyes peeled, I am not in the area anywhere near as much as I was (I worked nearby for years) but have family scattered around the surrounds! In you ever feel like coffee and a chat and I will happily pop over to say hi. :D

Sadly, it is unfair Bossy and it is one of the few things we have no control over. And even if you carry on and decide life has to and loved one's would want you to, it's not the same.

I have no doubt(well I know it was so)Mum really missed Dad and it hit her hard. Of course all marriages have little hiccups but they were still so very much in love, as much at the end as the begining. Both were still quite young, he had to take early retirement.

They had hoped to do so much and within a year he had passed away.

I hope that you find your way through the grief and difficult times...I don't know if your loss is recent or some time ago...

    Hi there
It feels recent, but also feels like a hundred years ago. It was last November actually, so am still going through all the "firsts" myself. Most days I manage quite well, and of course my little ones are at that delightful toddler stage and full of mischief. We are building a life together albeit slowly, and I'm trying to keep daddy's memory alive for them, sadly my youngest in particular won't have her own memories of him, she was only 14mths at the time. My boy was nearly 3 and he talks about daddy lots, which I encourage.
My job hasn't changed though, I still want to provide a happy safe home for them, so one thing has remained the same.

Good luck today SmileyT and Bonnie!

I have yet to read all of yesterday properly, but sending a big hug to anyone who needs one.

Went to rehearsal at the stadium last night, and was really proud that even though torrential rains came down, there were still 3000 of us keeping calm and carrying on with our performances. It's beginning to look really good - and quite a few folk in my little group (me included) found ourselves welling up a few times.

Landlady bring the estate agent around later to take pictures for selling it. Bet she won't be happy when she sees the damage her husband did to the exterior walls by yanking off all the ivy!

Have a lovely day everyone x

Morning gang. My thoughts today are with my mate Gracie who's due in court in half an hour - she's had a reposession notice for her home served on her. She's my friend with mental health problems, who can't find a job, even now she thinks she may be able to manage a part time job :(

I have no idea how it will go...but we are on standby to go and rescue her dog. Fortunately DD & her BF will be able to take him as the landlord of the place they just moved into is fine with pets. I told Gracie a long time back when we rescued him from my next door neighbour who was basically keeping him in a cage, and beating him for any misdemeanour that if she couldn't keep him for any reason he was to come back to us.

My heart is also breaking for the family of Lennox the dog, but I'm glad we got coverage on CNN and also have crashed Belfast councils website!!! That could so easily be one of my doggie girls or this poor lovely boy we will be getting probably next week. RIP Lennox.

    Good luck with interviews !!!!

Keeping my fingers crossed for you:)

Just had a nightmare at the school and had a word with the headteacher and deputy so the issues might be sorted regarding things going missing. So angry :mad:

My plan for today more paperwork arghhh i swear the stuff is multiplying. Also going to finish putting all the stuff away in out bedroom. They so much stuff and so little space so doing a major over all of it all.

Thanks kittie for the heads up, i may have to go shopping later as need basics and get some stock in. Last year i was quite organised for winter so we've been living off that but for the two months its virtually disappeared.

Think i'm going to make soup tonight for tea as ds2 is at horse riding and won't get back till about 5:30pm and ds1 is due in at 3:30pm.

oh great more junk mail through the door :(

I am unhappy that your DH is not there for you and your children, it's too soon, if any time is right(it never would be)and yes it's going to be difficult but part of him is in them so he lives on. He lives in your heart and through your memories. It is still early days as it is for me.

I've submitted my final gas and electricity readings for the month. I'm happy :)

    £24 on gas
    £32 on electricity

That means a whole £80 paid off the gas arrears and getting me down to just over £200. My target is to get that clear by October. I can't wait until it's in the £100. It was toppling £400 in the middle of winter. It's well worth being frugal with that on switch, something we will be doing to keep the costs down.

Sadly the electricity is not lowering. We owe £89. I'm trying to keep the tumble dryer at a minimum but with this weather and two little kids and a dirty working husband it's so difficult to do.

Any way, knowledge is power. If you know what you're using, know what you owe, you can keep a stern eye on it ;)

I'm not sure...it says he was due to be PTS at 7.00 am...but it's not confirmed :(

I'm just sitting here snivelling over another poor dog that was dumped in the USA (daily mail story) They forced it's tongue out and taped it's muzzle shut over it. It's had to have part of it's tongue removed, and if it can't eat/drink they will have to put it down. What the hell is WRONG with people??? It's the umpteenth horrible dog story i've seen recently. If you don't want your dog, why don't you just turn it over to a shelter?
