Anyway I wondered, in hope that this is the right place, if you kind people could help me with ideas on how to rescue a pair of supersoft jeggings? I love them, but they're fading and sagging and I can't afford anything new. I was thinking some dylon dye and maybe spray starch....would that help?? I am pretty craft/sew-y etc but don't have much experience with clothing.
Any ideas appreciated!!
xxxxx
I wonder if trying these "for free" ideas might work?
Try putting them through a hotter wash than normal - it will shrink the cotton content in them and tighten the fabric.
Depending on the colour - if they are grey/black/blue you could try washng them with jeans and/or other dark clothing & the trace of dye coming out of the other clothes in the washing water could refresh the colour a little.
Its quite a difficult fabric to try and restore IMO and personally,
I have had mixed results with home dyeing - I don't know what went wrong but a lot of the times, dark colours came out with patchy uneven colour:heartpuls The best things in life aren't things :heartpuls

What happens when you take your puppy walking in the Scottish hills? He comes home with a tick (disclaimer, not blaming Scotland ya unnderstand
)
Spent 45 mins trying to work out how to keep a beagle/collie puppy still enough to get it from his neck... solution? Cheese stuffed kong held high so he has to lick it and not grab it. We're all drained lol but it' out. yakky things.
Do you think we should still take him to vets?0 -
Gailey - Hugs to you. Summer holidays used to drive me to depression and it used to take me to half term to recover. It is only a couple of weeks and then you will be back in your routines.
Have you tried scrap stores for craft bits - there is one in Bristol - http://www.childrensscrapstore.co.uk/I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Just a quick post to give gailey a huge hug.
My advice is to stop, take a deep breath and write a list with ONLY three things on it. Ignore the rest for now, and when one thing is crossed off the list you can add another to it, but never have more than three things to worry about at once. You are so busy trying to do everything that it takes a huge amount of your available energy. Three things on a piece of paper is manageable but just reading your to do list on here is exhausting.
Also give your DH a list of things that he needs to sort. You aren't superwoman and no wonder you are ill. Be kind to yourself and just slow down

Gailey I used to keep one room clear and clean - just the one
As long as I had a clean tidy livingroom I could cope with the rest in turn.
Fuddle please return oor tick at once, it might be homesick!
I am going slowly mad trying to sell the old WM on Gumtree - so many weirdo replies must be scams, all wanting my phone number and address in odd English. I don't think so lol!
Want it sold to get a microwave with the money although the RV seems to think he's getting oil for the bike. Which he aint.0 -
Fuddle - I remove tics with a pair of tweezers, as close to the skin as you can to get the head, slight anti clockwork twist as you pull it out (the bore in like a cork screw so twisting as you remove is less painful). You must get the head out though or you'll need a trip to the vets. You can cover the tic in Vaseline first to try and kill it, they breathe through the bits sticking out so it essentially suffocates them but won't make them drop off.
We always dispose of tics in a drop of alcohol to make sure they're properly dead.......Blugh - they're the one thing that really turn my stomache."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -

I have almost every room tidy now but all the rubbish and stuff I have to go through is in an unused bedroom that I can close the door on...
This week I plan to shred and clear all that I can out of the outhouse and garage then as the wqether gets worse in winter I will go through the stuff in that bedroom.
then whether they move me or I stay put things are not so bad...
I'll try and clear drawers out...for now I still have Mum's clothes but I will see thay are tidy and they are only in one one wardrobe. I am not too upset seeing them but it's not as if I keep looking at them.
She had some lovely clothes such as a very expensive leather jacket I drove to Keswick just after passing my test and she saw it in Lakeland.
I really have very little belonging to Mum or Dad...sometimnes it's as if they were never here...:(
Still I have another problem to deal with now...it's my own fault...

Gailey I agree with the others, keep one room that is fit for unexpected guests! Make sure entrance hallways are kept clear - if anyone knocks at the door they see the hallway but not behind the bedroom door!!! Then keep the kitchen workable. Anything else is a bonus.
Pops - I have tried to read both threads and am confused sorry, I have taken that many pills it doesnt take much at the moment. I think the crux if the matter is the cooling off period and BG being closed. If thats the case none of the weekend or bank holidays count as they are not considered working days, the easiest way to measure whether a day is a working day or not is to ask whether the bank counts it as a day or not.
Mar - would eb@y not be easier to sell, I think its free listing this weekend.
Kittie - that is a man thing mine does the same as do both my boys or they take that long and do something so badly thinking I will do it myself.
Fuddle - no idea, thankfully we have never had any.
Have taken DD to her party and there was not one chair provided for parents to sit down. Loads didnt turn up and the ones that did were all talking about their expensive holidays, and how they never left the hotel. They could tell me nothing of the area they stayed in though - its sad the kids could have got such a lovely experience of the area and its people yet they only saw the hotel complex and pool!0
