Has anyone tried this for fleas? I know of several Americans who swear by this stuff even one who had fleas infesting her yard.

    It kills Slugs too!

GQ: My vote is for leopardskin. I can just see you on very high heels, black tights and a very short mock fur coat.....is a cigarette holder going too far?.....pushing Marlene round Tuscos stuffed with tea bags.
What do you mean? pushing 50?
Sweet child, I'm well over the three score years and ten mark and still fighting the urge for a trolley. No tarty outfit for me either, when I wear a long skirt I bear a startling resemblance to Mrs Noah. However, as I may have mentioned before, I do have a beautiful liver.

Nella Last and I are old friends. I have a vast collection of books about Britains Home Front during the war. The stories and the pictures take me back to my childhood. I did sleep in shelters, take my Mickey Mouse gas mask to school, sit under a hedge in my pushchair while a German Hedgehopper flew yards above Mum and I and eat a horrible concoction called 'extender' - margarine melted down and mixed with milk and corflour, allowed to set and used as a butter substitute. Ah. Nostalgia....it aint what it used to be.

GQ my trolley - Bernard - was 3 quid from a Cs so no choice in colour and no label on him, but luckily he is a very snazzy check pattern and takes being hauled on and off buses like a man :rotfl: But as it was a posh area I got him from he may have an excellent pedigree!

had a heatwave here today but now its chilly so am hoping tomorrow to sort out winter things from their hiding places. I have the entire day to myself to waste as I please apart from taking Bernard to the market, making 2 doz scones, tea for me and Dd, the washing .....you know what I mean :) OH is going pre hospital fishing so he can shout at the fishes and relax instead of grumping around here.

Must get another couple of boxes of Mr T's tea, got one last week and I cannot be expected to win at food poker with 1 pack :rotfl:

    GQ

As they said in "The Producers"

"If you've got it baby flaunt it, flaunt it!";)

Our washing machine suddenly collapsed and we had a spare in the garage - long story -so cleaned it inside and out, did a couple of washes on empty and gave it a go at a couple of loads of washing. Had to hover over it and keep resetting it it but did get washing done eventually ( with 3 dds at home we need a good machine)/

Did some research and found a really fancy one online but will wait for DH to suggest we get a good machine as we seem to have been spending a lot on repairs to house etc. Genius previous owner used silicone and no nails on bathroom tiles

Got a few YS deals - frying steak and fancy sausages , so bunged it in freezer. Made leek and potato soup for lunch and kofta kebabs and veggie cakes for tea. DD asked for veggie cake in salad sandwich for her packup tomorrow so feel quite pleased with today's cooking.

    Hugs to all

:D But I'm a simple clean-livin' country gal and wouldn't that be a bit....y'know.........fast? As our great-grannies might have put it.

Don't think I haven't been tempted by the diamonte. I have an almost unerring ability to find the most expensive item in any selection. Such a shame that I'm relatively skint. But I would rather have one really good trolley and use it for 20 years than shell out the same sum for 3 so-so ones and have them come apart over that time.

Buy cheap, buy often, my Mum counselled me when I was a youngster. Such a hardship finding out she was right all along.

Hmmmm, possibly diamonte is a step too far into the post-ironical cool trolley firmament. Getting a bit Ab Fab. I imagine I shall go for something sleek and timeless in black, whose innate good looks will identify me to Women Who Know their Trollies as a shopper to be reckoned with. We shall exchange discreet nods as we stride about town.

;) Or I may just throw caution to the winds and have something lairy in a psychadelic print.

GQ, many moons ago when I was at secondary school, I needed a bigger bag but had no money...

    Nothing new eh...
So, I went to our local upholsterer and blagged some off-cuts...

    Made my own bags...

Could you do similar and re-use a trolley frame...

an old bag :D as a pattern ...

then bling it up to your hearts desire

 OMG, what a nightmare! How could they have been so dense?! Mine (when I get it) will be in the changing room with me. Or possibly leashed to my wrist if that isn't allowed.

I like the idea of making a trolley bag and it's well within my skills but the issue will be a lovely sturdy frame and wheels to find. I shan't do anything preciptate, but as I stood at the top of my road yesterday, with 4 bags of shopping at my feet and 2 on my back, welts on my hands and murder in my heart, I thought to myself This Has Got to Stop.

Bit of a funny grey day outside at the mo but yesterday was the same and it turned out to be a scorcher. My place needs a good tidy thru and won't be getting it until later as I have to go to the saltmine and do some grafting.

    Have a good 'un, peeps.

I was just browsing on the spices of india site, (one of the best shops ever) and I saw a very good value pressure cooker. So cheap

    http://www.spicesofindia.co.uk/acatalog/Hawkins-Classic-Pressure-Cooker.html

at long last, the painter has made a date to finish painting outside, too high for dh but we have been waiting for almost a year! jobs must be growing on trees these days

got to go back pages through the posts, interesting all the time, so many different topics. Knitting going great, one child cardi finished 3 more to go and will get 4 gorgeous items from £10 of kemps yarn

very easy satisfying pattern and doing it in a pale mossy green plus a pale purple, was very lucky with colours sent from kemps

Quite tired of preserving now and it reminds me of last year but only basically drying this time with a bit of jam and bottled stuff, Freezer is full. Garden/allotment stuff has the autumn feel and one blackberry bush is done with fruiting so am cutting the fruiting branches off while I can see them. Marrow thinks it is autumn and has packed up and purple sprouting has sprouted too early. Spent an hour sorting my seed stash yesterday, will not grow some plants again

completely going off caulies as had a glut all at once and green bags aren`t all that good. Made curried caulie soup yesterday and froze two boxes but no room left. Caulie cheese again today, oh no!!

Looks like a decent brand , but the prices are dependent on size and I suggest get the biggest you can afford.
mine is a prestige extra large one that cost me £4 from a car boot about 10 years ago.The seals and weight are still available from hardware shops.

:D I did a forum search (baby's first ever!) and found it. Rolsers rock, seems to be the general opinion.

Being innately trivial, it vastly-amuses me that you can get them with Swarovski crystals on them. Not that I'd ever......! But the concept is amusing me. How's the hol so far, Fuddle?
Wet! Having a laugh though. Fil works in cs so going to go visit him later ;)

Loving that you're wanting a trolley!! Pics when you choose :D
