GQW - get one in camouflage colours, then no one will know it's there - then it will be a stealth trolley!!!!! Cheers Lyn x.0

GQ I have a typhoon trolley and love it. I had a problem with one of the wheels when it was out of warranty and emailed them to ask about repairs or a replacement. I got one in the post two days later free of charge. I think that it's worth investing in a more expensive one as my friend has had cheap ones that have died on her within a couple of months. The rolls royce of trolleys are Rolser ones and they are expensive. They start at £59 on Amazon.0

GQ - if it's a stealth trolley you could call it Marta, after Marta Hari - I'm sure she would have been camouflaged!!!!! Lyn x,0

LMAO, I could get one in DPM (camo) and then when I went to hide in the woods post SHTF I could take it with me and have all my Bug Out equipment (which would include anti-bug spray, believe you me) with me in comfort..........:D
Oh yes, I can see it now. Wonder if they have them at the Army Surplus? You can get very big trollies in murky green to go fishing with, I have noticed, but I don't think they'd win friends and influence people around the precinct.
Or I could have polka dots, or leopard prints or black and white ones like a Fresian cow. Oh dearie me, I can feel my wallet struggling to escape my hot little hand as it wants to run into the corner to hide to avoid being pillaged.
Mrs LW, you are a caution! And as daft as I am. Thanks for the Typhoon/ Rolser tips. I really don't like buying cheap flimsy stuff as I get so cross with the waste of resources when they break. I shall see what the emporia of Provincial City have to offer tomorrow after w*rk if I can muster the enthusiasm. There are cheap and cheerfuls on the market but I suspect they are fast hussies, all flash and no knickers, so to speak. They will flirt and promise but not stay for the long run. My trolley and I will have to have a long and meaningful relationship, not some flingette started too swiftly and swiftly forgotten.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I have just discovered that DS(10) and his friend crossed a lock yesterday on their own by the canal. They were geocaching with DH, he had to stop to do something with DD and they were allowed to go to the next cache, but were ages, he had to deposit DD and go look for them. DS's friend had been a bit too eager and gone to his favourite one (it was all new to DS). They didn't admit to crossing the lock though, have just got it out of him by accident. Makes me feel quite sick to think what could have happened, though obviously it didn't.
So much for his burgeoning independence we were trying to foster, he's forbidden from going anywhere near the canal without an adult. His friend has a lot more independence but I suspect that will be nipped in the bud for a while too. Bless him he did try and take all the blame yesterday though (before we knew the worst of it!).
So scary! Thank goodness he's ok.
Didn't go out today (apart from the vets) as the people from the HA were back painting & hadn't done my back door before we were away. So the back door has been open all day.
The vet agreed it was just the fleas, poor Socks has chewed herself bald in places. Got Frontline Combi & Staykill spray, which apparently kills dust mites as well as fleas. Discussed the safety of the spray with the boys &i having asthma, & how to protect the hamsters. She said to spray & go out for a few hours, not just the half hour it says on the can, for our lungs. For the hamsters, I'm going to scrub the bathroom & shut them in there while I spray, then spray the bathroom when they're out.
So that's tomorrow morning taken care of. Will do a picnic & go to the library for DS2's reading game, & get boys' feet measured. Don't have to get school shoes for DS1 for 6th form, but might as well check his foot growth while checking DS2.
I made up instant mash tonight & put it in a pyrex dish in the oven while cooking sausages to give a nice topping. Boys both liked it like that, so I'll aim to do it like that next time. We had carrots & broccoli with it & gravy. Must be mad! It's been hot again, though not as hot as the weekend.0 -
I usually put my walking stick in the shopping trolley(The supermarket one)but today when I had finished at the checkout...it wasn't there:eek:
That meant difficulty in walking home and...I me being a stick down...luckily even though we're only talking minutes it had been handed in at Customer Services. How lucky am I?"A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

When I think of them clinging to that narrow lock gate crossing over it makes me go all wobbly. It's a shame as we were just building up our trust for him to go out on his own a little bit.
Poor kitty. I hope she's more comfortable soon although i don't envy you all those preps.
PAH - how scary!!
GQ - I am imagining a super trendy trolley0 -
 Oooh PAH, that would have given me the wibblies!
Funny how the subject of cats and flea treatments came up today; the parentals have just managed the annual palaver of getting "the girls" (their 2 sister cats) down to the vet for their shots, their worming and some more Frontline. £126 for both! Quelle horreur. This was the first time in three years that they managed to get them both at once. The Siamese-y mongel one (queen of the dirty look and very clever) is always the hardest to fool and the least forgiving and has been sulking over it since 9 am when they got them back home again.
Her cute-but-dumb fluffball of a sister is far more forgiving.
Ladies and gentleman, I have reached a decision just now. I felt a Rubicon has been crossed, a venturing into a bourne from which no woman may return etcetera and ad infinitum.
Yup, I'm gonna get a wally trolley. I'm pushing 50 and I'm blinking well allowed to have a trolley. It's probably enshrined in the human rights act somewhere. Being a feminine fluff-brain, I'm musing on colours and patterns but I really ought to apply myself to the important stuff like strength and durability.
Sooo, is there an OS wally trolley thread? Does anyone have insider knowledge of the best 2-wheelers around? I shan't be going miles with it, just up and down from the city centre to the flat. Once I've got it, I shall seek your input on the truly important part...........her name.:rotfl:
Right, now I shall need tea. Nurrrrrrrrssssssssseeeeeeeeeee!
DS2 put Socks' carrier on the sitting room floor & opened it up; as I've been washing all DS1's piles of probably flea-ridden clothes from his floordrobe, the carrier is still sitting there & the daft girl keeps going & sitting in it!
I got my trolley from L1dl last year, & it's okaaay, but not fantastic. It's not waterproof for torrential downpours as we discovered on the way home with it; I can't work out how to fold it smaller though it should; & it's not insulated at all. Mum's got a super 1 she got from a car boot that is insulated though it still doesn't fold; as she shops with car now, I don't know if it's waterproof. Lakeland usually have some nice looking ones.MrsLurcherwalker wrote: »GQW - get one in camouflage colours, then no one will know it's there - then it will be a stealth trolley!!!!! Cheers Lyn x.
Lol, oh yes, please do, & post a photo so we can try to spot it!0 -

All of the above...are you near the canal and locks or does it take a bit of getting to? if you live close by that doesn't help..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson
