Possession- your daughter's right, the Aldi Chorizo Pamplona is delicious! They also do very nice raisin and vanilla brioches in packs of 8 (I've tried the choc chip ones too (in the interests of fairness, you understand) but they weren't as nice). Very handy for breakfast on mornings when you're running late and just need to grab something portable to eat when you get to work!

I work from home Evie so unfortunately I never have that excuse! My children like the choc chip brioche but they are too sweet for me. They aren't fans of raisins (despite loving my new fave recipe, tea bread) so haven't tried the others. I needed to make something for their packed lunch tomorrow (my parents paid for them to go to holiday club) but it's too hot and I dropped a bike on my leg yesterday and it really hurts. So nothing has been done but I can probably rustle up a cereal bar for a treat.
  • Evening all, another sizzling hot day today, and a lovely barbecue this evening with YS salmon, chicken breasts and Aldi Bratwurst eaten with home grown beetroot salad, homegrown cucumber salad and home grown coleslaw Mmmmmm!!! Just caught up with todays posts and got to the bit about Fuddles littlies wanting Horlicks when I realised it was nearly dark and only 8.40 pm, autumn is on the way methinks!!! Had to turn out the allotment grown onions to dry again today, and will turn out potatoes tomorrow, I am seriously concerned about produce not keeping this year, I must save up for a dehydrator as the freezers are groaning full and we still have lots of things producing enough surplus to freeze. DD1 has finally completed on her house and hopes to move in on Wednesdy so DH will go to give her a hand, I hope it's a bit cooler by then or they and the removal men are going to be shattered by the end. Little dog is finding this heat trying and spending most of the day behind the sofa laying on his back with his legs up the wall, he must get a bit of airflow in there, but he looks so funny!!!

Hope you are all weathering this heat and not suffering too much discomfort, stay cool and safe Cheers Lyn xx.

I had to put the lights on at about 7.50pm here, it's been overcast most of the day but I noticed the daylight really fading fast tonight.

We ain't got no sun, it's raining....again. It's humid.... again. Lovely for those who are having some good weather, at least someone is enjoying it.

One day, I might even get a line of washing dry.:)

It has been hot and humid but rained most of the day here too but thankfully has cooled down so hopefully sleep will be possible...

I very often go to supermarket and don't find anything YS
so when I do I grab it and freeze it.

I don't grab everything and don't block the area as some people do or harass the poor guy / girl wielding the pricing gun.

A bit disappointed DH does not grasp how well I have done but if dd comes up to stay for a couple of days and she can go back with a small lamb joint for £1.25, meatballs at 50 pence or white fish for £1,50 plus AF sauces, couscous , pasta etc then she will be impressed.

Strange thing is when I dragged dh to tkmaxx and he got a really good winter coat at a sixth of the price and a good jacket at a quarter of the price - he did appreciate that.

He does not appreciate how small amounts add up and how I like getting branded bread for£ 1 instead of £1.35 or more or butter for £1 instead of £1.50 or more etc.
