Molly I would like to hear your story.0

VJ's mum sounds like an interesting holiday. I am deeply interested in the Amish so would love to hear more Molly.
Smileyt thats a difficult one, anonymous flowers would be nice in some ways, certainky a relief from boredom but there is a stalkery angle too. I think he needs to express an interest by talking to her myself if she is like you say.
have DGS here, childminder thinks he may have chickenpox so we rescued him at 2 pm and he is happily sat on grandads bed watching Pingu. Doesnt seem ill but has a few spots, then a few more!!! Just be glad if he gets it over with as its rife round here.
Thrown together a macaroni cheese so everyone gets fed later and have cooked 2 huge pans of kidney beans and butter beans for the freezer, just hope I get time to bag them off later when they are cool.Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -
Thanks for the advice on the electric blankets...found some fleecy throws today for £2.98. some pyjama sets Top and shorts, a kind of hooded top and a nice leisure shirt and...some lovely coloured hand made glass(reduced)jars for putting tealights in. Got them home safely in a taxi to home, carried them upstairs and...smashed one!
Too expensive to specially go back for one replacement but just hope if I am in the store again they are still available. Mainly purchased for my store room or in case I want to avoid using the electric lights...or handy if there is a powercut...
Still have no idea how it happened as it was more protected than earlier with clothes and the throws..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Fingers crossed he just gets it mildly. DD didn't really seem to notice she had it but DS a week later was thoroughly miserable. Felt really sorry for the poor mite.0 -

You know how I have a monthly meal plan? I'm going to try to get it down to a weekly meal plan in a bid to save even more money and make my store even more useful. Let me explain. I figure (and might be wrong) that it's more expensive to ensure I have all the different ingredients for 30 meals as opposed to 7 meals. The ingredients I really use I can concentrate stocking up on making my store smaller but more precise and more of each item.
My grandma did this. Each day of the week had a meal assigned to it. She didn't alter it one bit. I'm not sating this is set in stone as we may (probably) get very bored. It will be interesting to see if my gang actually pick up on a 7 day rotation.
Sunday: chicken dinner - pudding
Monday: leftover chicken curry, boiled rice, onion bhaji - pudding
Tuesday: mince cobbler, peas, mashed potato - pudding
Wednesday: pizza, garlic bread, coleslaw, salad - pudding
Thursday: pork chop, roast veg, cauli cheese - pudding
Friday: fish pie, peas - pudding
Saturday: mince and dumplings, mash, broccoli
portion sizes will be smaller as one extra put aside for DH's lunches at work wwhich is why we'll get pudding nightly.0 -
I did some freezer shopping in Iceland today - I like that place when I have a few extra moments to spare and it does show good on the till receipt as well. I have been running the freezer down and trying to get through the old stocks. Really do recommend Iceland's boxed fish as it is so reasonably priced and they do decent sizes as well.
I will say a good friend of mine went to Iceland two weeks ago now and did a big shop - about £80.00 worth of food - but her freezer is bang full. She is trying to get her store cupboard into a conditon where she has enough to make two weeks worth of meals without having to break the bank. Money is pretty tight for them at the moment so she is trying to do as much as she can with her food budget. She is lucky that she has an Aldi within walking distance.Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

Ginnyknit, I hope the chicken pox isn't too severe. DD1 has had it and she didn't suffer too badly, but my niece had spots everywhere, including in her mouth and girly bit
DD2 hasn't had it yet but I hope she does soon, would like it over and done with.
I would also vote No on the anonymous flowers, there are way too many possible consequences.
Well, the trip to the posh leisure centre didn't happen my friend let us down and decided to go out instead. the girls were disappointed, but we took our picnic on the park instead and had just as much fun. DD2 decided to use her new 'no stabiliser' skills and take her bike (complete with sparkly tassels and dolls seat) on the skate ramps. she got down one ramp and up the next, then got stuck and fell off:eek:. she did get a round of applause from all the teenaged boys there and after drying her tears the cocky little show off took a bow! :rotfl: I've never known a child like her for confidence.
I made a chilli for tea (and a veggi version for me) and got busted by DH. He caught me adding oats to stretch it out a bit and would have refused to eat it had I not revealed he has been eating it that way for months now:p. I dished up the girls before I added any actual chilli because they're not very good with spicy food, and I've saved enough to make into pasties for tomorrows dinner. I'm planing a full day at the allotment to try and find my veg under all the weeds:o
I'll make some cheese straws with any left over pastry too. The girls are eating so much this school hols that they need a constant supply of snacks.
Tonight will be spent chopping rhubarb so I can get stuck in to all my freebie homebrew stuff, and DH has promised to help, how romantic lol.
Have a good evening all xfreecycler and skip diver extraordinnaire:cool:0
