Mardatha - I find the microwave really useful, especially if I freeze a meal portion, I just pop it into the micro for a few minutes and its done.
Smiley - I knew it had to be something like that with panniers, he used to go on about bikes all the time and I never listened - obviously something stuck anyways!!
Jem - good luck with the doggie adventures, the only thing I would point out is that all my kids schools have a strict no dogs policy and enforce it, you are not even allowed to tie them up outside the school gates, after a dog bit a child who was over enthusiatic with petting one morning. So you may not be able to take dog on school run0 -
Ok ty. It would be used only for reheating leftovers and making soap. Just wondering if 3 mins in elect is cheaper than 10 mins on the gas. Quicker anyway!
I got Hovis flour and Hovis yeast, will move the petted spoiled wee lump out of the draught, feed it warmed water for its wee delicate insides, and if it still gives me a brick then it's CURTAINS
I use my mw a lot mar, not just for heating up - scrambled eggs, pasta, rice, jacket potatoes (can crisp in the hot oven for a few minutes afterwards if you want), frozen veg, bacon, chicken breasts eg in garlic butter, and I used to do a chicken casserole for aunty in the microwave (her recipe); everything takes much less time, bar rice which I found takes almost as long.
mw sponge puddings are good too ....... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

I have a micro steamer as well, which is great, steams broccolli and carrots in 4 minutes, small potatoes in 8 minutes, all much quicker than my electric steamer.0

Thing is with prepping Mrs L is that people love to poke fun and fall about sniggering. And I'm not going to waste my time or energy on them - but I'd do a thread with PAH if she's game, and Smiley who is a prepper too.0

Jem pet I had a string of miscarriages too, inc one at 5 months and one at 7 months -and decided to give up trying, then after a gap of 7 years I had another baby with no problems at all, the first one without hassle.0

Morning all
I'm on the iPad so apologises for not quoting people properly.
Smileyt we know that she might not want to go, so will have people on standby to take her place if necessary.
Popperwell I hope I'm not speaking out of turn and I know it's still early days, but can I ask that you give some thought to getting some grief counselling. Guilt is normal, but I hate the thought of you getting eaten up by what ifs. I've been there and many years later still haven't grieved properly.
I'm mad at myself this morning. I planned on cooking the pork joint I had in the fridge for Sunday lunch, but kept smelling something off in there. I've pulled everything out and discovered it's the pork. I rarely cook roast dinners as DS1 won't eat them and was really looking forward to it, so I could kick myself for not checking the dates. I had a brain burp and just didn't think about it.
DH left for work at 6.30am and I got a call at 8.15am to say that he had been stung by a wasp and what was his Mom's phone number. I told him what to do, but he has no access to even water, so what he expected his Mom to do down the phone I have no idea. I know Mom's are meant to work miracles, but I think this is beyond even my lovely MIL.
Today I'm tired and don't want to be the one that has to keep organising everything. I'm tired of trying to find things that everyone will eat and failing. I'm tired of feeling ignored and alone with three other people in the house and mostly I'm tired with myself.
Oh well, it could be so much worse. I'm just feeling overwhelmed by chaos. I need a skip and a handyman I think.
Time to stop wallowing and eat something.
Take care xxxx0 -

If the underwire keeps coming out you may need a bigger cup size.
That is what I got told when I got measured.
Got up early and put a lamb casserole in the oven so I am not on my feet so much. My leg is a bit swollen and almost gave way as I got up so being a bit paranoid. YS lamb steaks and chops with onions, carrots, mushrooms and tiny new potatoes. Let's hope it turns out all right.
Usually do mix for rolls in panny and then bake but very intrigued by recipe by Dan Lepard so going to try that later today or tomorrow.
If I can get myself moving might make tiny individual apple crumbles for dessert. Looks posher but no more difficult than making a larger one in a big dish.
Having a cuppa , a shower and getting my large lazy a** in gear.

Not ignoring the rest of your post just taking your comment out in particular...
Most of the time I'm fine and dare I say I can go for hours without Mum dominating my thoughts. Does that sound right? Heartless? I only get doubts if I get into really thinking about matters deeply. The Coroner's Office tried to put things in perspective and if they'd had doubts they woud not have let us go ahead with the funeral.
Thankfully, I am interested in cooking again, listening to the music and radio we used to share and still keep interested in my computer. Hope I always can...Might feel better once I know what the futire holds which none of us do(whther I will still get my DLA or the replacement)whether I'll be put into the ESA programme, JSA and so on...
Trying to live for the day...
