No I don't think so. They had a quick sweep around the market, but were concentrating on buying stuff that they could make something with. Mine is already made, and just needs eating
Zilli, not surprisingly was very taken with Mandy's Fish Stall. Cardigan bay crab and lobster, and some mackerel!

That reminds me wasnt one if the thread due to perform in the Olympic opening ceremony? Did anyone see them? Or did I imagine it?Have not seen any of the Olympics at all. DS14 had major meltdown over it all just before it began - over advertising, couldnt escape it etc so I put a household embargo on it and we have avoided it totally.

Good news katie, hope all goes well with the LL tomorrow.
DD17 is filling in a driving licence application form and its taking forever, I am making her think about her answers and her reasoning, for instance title? she said Miss, so I said why? Why not Ms? and then ensued a major discussion on the whys and wherefores. Followed closely by country of birth - British? or English?
Its a good way of encouraging her to think about her identity and answers and how she feels about who she is.
Its hilarious though as she has some OCD tendancies and is trying to make all the crosses look even and sit in the box exactly!! Added to the other stuff - Mum what do I out in the official use boxes? (I nearly lost the laptop from laughter at that one)
ANd we havent even got to the organ donor section yet:rotfl::rotfl:
ETA - aaaaarrrrhes lovely

Will have to watch out for the series..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

I haven't nor listened on the radio but it can creep into some radio programmes still, I only know a handful of names but that;s about it."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

'tis priced in Maurtian Rupees - 1 = about 20p apparently:)"If ever there is a tomorrow when we're not together... there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart... I'll always be with you. "
A.A. Milne
We are such stuff

Is rounded with a sleep.

'Divide and conquer' seems to be the running theme that this government is relying on.
And yes, I think we all know many [STRIKE]sheep[/STRIKE]people who are falling for their plan, many more just feel helpless and don't know where to turn for help.
'We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.'
I have always liked this speech, It represents camaraderie, a belief that a few people standing together can make a change. That these people united in adversity can form a bond that binds them close together.
We, the writers who contribute to this thread typify the sentiment of this speech. We are all different in our backgrounds, ages, incomes and abilities.
Day in, day out we come together to share our ups and downs, each of us knowing that someone will read/thank/respond. We have formed a 'Band of Brothers' It has not been a conscious thing, but like minded people do post here. Yes, there will be different opinions, but the underlying theme of supporting each other prevails.
Every person posting here has a voice. Everyone of us has received advice/tips and the odd sweetie! :rotfl: We stand by our belief that with a lot of hard work we can make our lives and the lives of our families better.
We stand together, side by side, facing 'the soulless minions of Orthodoxy' or whatever bunch of pitiless morons they throw at us.Give us the strength to encounter that which is to come, that we may be brave in peril, constant in tribulation, temparate in wrath, and in all changes of fortune, and down to the gates of death, loyal and loving to one another.”0 -
He looks like a very fine Grand-Goggie indeed Kate!
Cross fingers that the LL delivers - and DD and BF find themselves somewhere nice to live after all this grief.
And don't forget to look after yourself - you need a break all the stress too!Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0
