Right he is waking himself up with a 'quick' wash so we might make it for 9 the store is 5mins away in car.......ah well gives the three oxynorm I had kept for emergencies more time to kick in....didn't want to take them till I knew more were forthcoming.
Fuddle meant to say thank you for the links to the patterns, have treated myself to them and the ones for the fleecy trouser suit and long fleecy dress out of the paypal money I got for selling those shoes....
Oh eck I think cupid has lost his lyre as across the road by our car is what looks like a gigantic black lyre, cannot see what it really is as lying flat on the ground and if still there when we get out will take a photo......

Molly when I received the dreaded brown envelope back in March I contacted my MP. Never spoke to her but one of her aides a nice young lad called Oliver called me within two hours -I emailed her with all info- and told me she would take my case and how she would contact DWP and explained she doesn't talk to those that make the decisions but their bosses and within a week I went from work group to support for 2 years as they 'suddenly' realised that on my original info I fitted at least one of the descriptors to give me the full points........I think the fact that they pu
I thankfully never needed to appeal, I contacted her and put it in writing ( sent registered post which hubby posted that day,so my letter arrived by time MP contacted them) that I wished them to look at it again and didn't really supply them with anything new like doctors letter.

I've been in Primark today and if that shop is stocked with fashion then I'm best off out of it... I picked up the kids' socks and ran!(obviously paid)
Fuddle you're fab!! You are definitely my sort of lass - shame you don't live closer or you could come to our sewing club to make up your new pattern in good company over a nice cup of tea and a biccy (often HM by my friend's daughter!)
I've been having a peruse of the sewing club website today and bought 6 pattens for different bags. I've been on a bit of a bag making 'do' at the moment and decided that everyone is getting HM made bags with appropriate goodies in (some AF teas, biscuits 50% off from Julian Graves or Body Shop goodies from when they have good discount vouchers) for Christmas this year. When my parents were over yesterday my mum suggested I ought to have a stall at the village craft fair she helps organise before Christmas so I have decide to go for it and call myself 'The Bag Lady'. It'll keep me occupied in the evening and provide an excuse for me to spend a little on fabric whilst recouping the costs later. Will also mean that the house won't be permanently overrun with bags - not for nothing did my dad call me the Mass Production Queen when I was a youngster. :rotfl:0 -
Good luck with it stiltwalker........you will soon be the designer label everyone must have, bag wise.......as I like bags if you ever decide to pop some photos on of any you make so I can have a nosy you might just end up with a customer.......I have 3 teenage girls to buy C presents for and would rather give you the money than a shop.Need to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

Greyqueen, let me know when to put on my pinny! scones it is. We're the opposite, in the gods at the top of the hill looking out over the sea and the canal. Haribo how come you've had such great weather when ours has sucked????? It seems to have rained pretty much constantly, just varying in intensity - although the veggies have grown a little - our rasps did well too - still haven't had a chance to plant my winter greens - they're sitting looking at me sadly everytime I go in the back door!
its getting dark earlier and earlier here already - have a horrid feeling that summer blinked by and we're in autumn now. It's pretty over the loch though with the darker nights.
Forgot to say well done to hubbie HJ,you must be really relieved. It's great to hear some good news.
Stiltwalker good luck with the bags!

WCSNo idea why it's better over here. We do get quite different weather. My MIL often phones (from where you are) bemoaning the rain and is most put out when I say it's sunny here.
(Of course it does happen the other way round too. Did you not have it hot in May/June? It was nice every time we were over though I was there yesterday and it was dreich.
Thanks for the good wishes. x
Back from the beach. Tide was too far in to get razor clams or winkles but did find some more wild raspberries. The samphire is thin on the ground but both our fishmongers are now selling it so I expect they beat me to it.
My sweet tooth was calling when we got back so I've made a batch of honeycomb. It's taking far too long to cool.
Eta... I did "forage" 2 red cabbages in Tesco reduced to 1p each.:D:money:0 -
Katie I do hope your loved ones have somewhere safe to rest their head tonight and get it sorted soon. Is it their first place together? Is this the place the grand doggie is going to live?
DD and her BF AND his brother are all here... we will tackle the letting agent tomorrow. They've moved their valuables to my other DD, just up the road from them, which is where the dog will be living. Fortunately her house is in good repair despite being owned by the same man!!!
No it's not their first place....the first place they were sharing with a friend of BF's who they fell out with, they ended up coming home to live with us. We left them in second place, the one in London, that they had to leave when local authority wouldn't help out with the rent when they both lost their jobs, we had to go and rescue them and they ended up with us again and slept on the sofa here in Wales for a year. Third place was a damp caravan, fourth place was a teeny weeny bedsit in a convertions shared with loonies, and this will be place number 5.... I swear it's not them...they are both perfectly normal nice people. I guess that just what happens when you can only afford to rent right at the bottom of the housing ladder.

Well toddled off to Mr S I can now plan the revolution as I have my sweetie supply.......will never get a stock of them as I need them so annoying so if TEOTWAWKI did start even the meanest thugs wouldn't want to mess with me if I run out of them.....I get rather bad tempered due to the pain, as hubby would say and understatement PMS is mere annoyance in comparison.
Well I wander up to check out with 16 bottles of basics malt vinegar(all they had) as you do and one of the supervisors asked me if I was planning on pickling a field of onions. Told her that although OS books say white vinegar for everything as its far to expensive I use malt(13p a bottle and no asian supermarkets with many miles). Then checkout woman and I get chatting ( just after the meds I tend to gab a lot) and we find out we both use the forums here, only so far she has not registered. So told her who I was and we then had a nice chat about building up supplies with ys etc., a woman after my own heart. Been chatting to her for years and never knew.
Most likely drove her nuts with my yabbing one but she convinced me to try their basics teabags - bought them last maybe 15 years ago and they were urg and their red label ones for some weird reason give me headaches, typhoo do also. So bought three packs and if I don't like them can get my money back, so nothing to lose and everything to gain considering they cost 27p for 80. I like a nice strong cuppa but even if I had to use 2 bags still cheaper than nearly £5 for the ones I am using just now(its the one thing I will not compromise on I like a decent. cuppa.
Right does anyone know if you can freeze cows milk mozzerella balls, Mr S basic. As they were selling them off at 5p each so I bought 6 and if I can freeze them great if not will turn them into mac cheese, portion it and freeze that tonight.
Oh hubby found a scratch card in the van he was using today, he thought it had a £2 win so I took it in and it was, so if whoever left it there asks about it hubby will give him the £2 if not its mine. He did ask at the office but they didn't know as vans are assigned then reassigned over and over so the driver who left it might not even be sure what van he was in yesterday or day before or even earlier as hubby likes a tidy van so goes digging down seats and under them to remove any rubbish( which drivers are supposed to do at end of shift).
I have out a plate of dog food and a plate of salmon out in garden. Its past year or so this beautiful Siamese cat as sunned herself( think its she never been near enough to be sure) in side garden and used to have a collar on and looked so beautiful, but other day I saw it and it looked scrawny and a bit unkempt and no collar. Tonight when we came home it was sitting on one of the bins and looked even worse and I am worried about it.
It still will not come to near so hoping it and not the field mice find the food(it had vanished by time I got outside with the food) and eats it. Will keep careful eye out of side window and if I spot it anytime will take some food out to it and tomorrow will buy some cat food. When it jumped off the bin I said to it I will go and get you some food/dinner and it did look at me and put its tongue out so hoping it understood and will take it.
POPS have you eaten yet??????????

Evening all and (((hugs))) to all in need of them
GQ - to your brown envelope moment - I'm so glad it seems to have been sorted.
HariboJunkie - :jYay!! for DH's business success - may this be the start of a brilliant upsurge in profits for you!
Katie - to the horror flat. I hope your loved ones have somewhere safe to sleep tonight, and that things get sorted asap. Some LLs are just so disreputable
Stiltwalker - good luck with the bag production: it sounds hard work but fun. I would like to have more time to spend sewing but somehow things seem to get in my way. I am not very good (still very much a beginner with sewing anything "useful" although I am better at embroidery as I've had more practice). One day...!
I think this might have been my busiest week ever at work, certainly my blood pressure has been scaling new heights over the past few days. Luckily I have a day off tomorrow :j - we were supposed to be heading for the coast but not sure whether the weather is going to be kind to us. Will make a final decision in the morning.
The kitchen is almost complete! Just the tiling to go, and then I can finally have my cooker installed! :T I just can't wait to start cooking proper food again. I am really struggling with convenience foods and feel guilty for feeding my family so badly over the past couple of weeks. We are all looking forward to getting our house back too! Just a few more days...!
Right, better turn in as I am cream-crackered.
Evie xx
PS Did anyone else watch the programme about the Amish? I always find such programmes fascinating. I was hoping there'd be more about the OS aspects of their lifestyle but it was interesting all the same."Live simply, so that others may simply live"Weight Loss Challenge: 0/700
