Wishing you well, Wish I owned this house and that could save me some money and I would not be claiming as much from them. Can't change things:(But then houses need repairing so you are always paying out.

What you say is the most worrying of all. But would we worry more if we did know.

I guess the only good thing is that you might not have been able to get the kitchen done again so that's sorted. Even if it has to last years and years...

    Hello Taurus,
Thinking of you and wishing you well. The not knowing is often the worse part. I feel that way when I go for my check ups(different illness)and seeing Mum go through what she did.

    Take Care

It is the not knowing, isn't it? You'd think I'd be used to it by now after several years on a very variable income, but I still worry about the future. I know there's no point worrying because it doesn't change anything, but I can't seem to help it.

    Oh well.

I'm going to start crocheting a mug hug for a friend. That will cheer me up. I'll do 15 minutes and then hie me off to bed.

    Night all xx.

ETA Sorry, didn't read the above posts properly, thought you were talking economics not illness. Perhaps I'd better get to bed now!

    Economics too Smiley...

You know even when things are tough you can still keep quite upbeat and not worry, The worry comes from other people, it is the unknown wondering what "They" are up to and what hoops you are going to have to jump through and if they pull the rug from under you, what you will do.

As I said I do think I have done well over Mum and kind of come to terms with it but now it's all this...

Hope you manage to rest your mind and sleep peacefully, sometimes it's the best part of the day...

Evie its hard now but in the future you will be glad you had it done.

Nothing worse than money being tight and your home is making you unhappy.......that is the one thing I am grateful to HA for letting me chose from start to finish what I wanted in my kitchen and where I wanted it.

I drove the designer mad I had drawn out what I wanted where but not done measurements so some things had to change but he could not get it into his head I wanted hob and oven in separate places. He would do design on his laptop and each time he would put oven under the hob although I wanted it wall mounted. He told me no one else had asked for it out of over 20K people. I had asked if there were any restrictions and was told no if appliance could be fitted in they would fit in any I supplied and as this was my chance to have the kitchen of my dreams I took it. I had to buy a few cupboards myself but worth it they fitted them all in. They had to move the gas supply completely to another side of the kitchen and add more water pipes but I took them at their word and even now I still love it......even if things get tighter I still have my dream kitchen. I know things will need replacing but its suitable for me now and future - I was already finding it to hard to get down to use normal oven and was using a mini oven instead so wall mounted one was a must and so was having the sides at the correct height as well as wall cupboards so even if health gets worse I can use it........

Many others including friend in the north wishes they had asked for wall mounted oven they just went for normal cooker never thinking they could have one. I have cupboards above and below it so every bit of space is used..

We even had a choice of 50 different colours and styles to chose from.

My main work top is 19ft long and 3ft wide and includes the sink hole. They cut out the space for the sink in the front and then had to carry it in and fit it - twice as they were carrying it in they knocked it and it broke at the thin part when sink hole was. Poor workmen they were cursing me that day, but its what I wanted one big piece so much easier to keep clean.

So to will you feel better even if you are having to make really cheap meals in it, never resent it, enjoy it.

Before I just had room for cooker, fridge freezer and washing machine. Now it also has dish washer and tumble dryer............thanks to old coal cupboard being taken out its almost twice the size and as said even if times are hard its much nicer working in lovely surroundings than awful ones........does loads for the morale........

I even demanded and got them to fit my own light fittings as they wanted to put some long life fluorescent things that were so ugly and florescent and me do not get on, brings on my migraines. When we first moved in there was a big florescent light in there and boy did I have a battle to get it removed.

    I totally agree...

If I get some sleep hopefully I will feel different and more positive...won't be going for a while yet...not after having already had almost a whole 24 hours there...
