Softstuff I'm so sorry to read that an already awful time has been made much worse. I'm pleased you're home now.

Well it's training day at work. Went down to do my bit while my sis and BIL came to watch DD (she was off school for training day). I made a big batch of mince and onions in the SC for their lunch and DH's tea. I got held up down there. When I got home I found they had eaten it all. DH now has no tea tonight. Egg and chips coming up then :rotfl:

    I missed WTFarm too.

Must dash, I have a house like Hanratty's yard! Just who is Hanratty?

Wasn't Hanratty a character in Steptoe and Son? Didn't he have the rival yard?

Having breathed a huge sigh of relief over car MOT, I discovered that they opened the drivers window (no idea how as it hasnt opened in weeks) and got it jammed down. I have been trying to get it fixed for ages but its a long story, involving a husband who procrastinates, an electrician who has isshews and an ice cream van (dont ask its complicated) and am still waiting. Car is now on drive with window wide open - no sign of being able to close it.

Am remaining calm (surprisingly) and have depatched OH to try to get something sorted. He is at work tomorrow so time is of essence.

Winter has definitely arrived and its freezing here, heating has gone on as DS was getting really anxious about being cold.

Not done any shopping yet, will all the usual dramas kicking off, can see it being tomorrow before I get anywhere now, assuming I have the car sorted.

Fuddle - how on earth did they eat two meals worth of food?
Quite fancy egg and chips now though :)
  • Just a thought Kidcat, we have a window like that on the Jeep. Have you tried pulling it up while also pushing 'window close' button? It works for us. Good luck!

The window is completely retracted so cant get a grip - last time I thumped and kicked the door whilst holding button and it went up, today have done the same and its still down, but I have a sore hand form thumping it :):rotfl: BUt thank you :)

Can you piggle the door facing thingy off inside and doctor it from there?

Lordy only knows. There was two portions of mince in there! They gave some to their DD and mine so not just them but they're only 3 and 4 so won't have eaten more than a tablespoon full.

Has anyone else had snow then? We've had showers this afternoon, nice big flakes but didn't lie and didn't last long. It is very icy cold today. I had hat on and welles with thermal socks.

I'm feeling quite cross for DD. Bearing in mind we walk to the schools daily - about 25 mins walk, DD has come home upset because she has filled her walking to school chart in and was supposed to get a colouring sheet for her effort. Her two friends also filled their chart in... and got the last two colouring sheets. DD is fuming because of the injustice - those two girls get the car to school. I feel for her but that's life. She's in a stinker of a mood.

Youngest DD (4) asked me today "when you're married do you get to choose your own house?" I said yes and then came "Why can we not choose to live somewhere else then?" She's obviously picked up on the bad house vibes. I said that houses were expensive and you have to save a lot of money to get a new one. I said hopefully we can choose another one in a couple of years time.

I didn't know what else to say really.

I want to tell both girls about the bankruptcy, more so for their own financial education but I really don't know at what age or how really.

Its probably too soon yet Fuddle, As for the house thing, it may be worth explaining that you can choose but its like climbing a ladder, you have to start on the low rungs and climb slowly to the top, as you save enough you have the choice to climb or to stay and save more. Winning the lottery is like a lift to the top of the ladder!!! :)

Quite simple really they broke it, they fix it. If not then they provide you with vehicle til it is fixed. Their problem not yours.
