Just do the same as we have completely ignore them....been 1 mth now still nothing through the mail...that dosent mean to say we wont get anything......it really makes my blood boil over these lecherous scams...we got ours for the same reason...it's the people that don't do the research about these companies that keep them in business by paying the charge.0

I have just had a letter from Roxburghe debt collectors asking for £188.
The last paragraph is:
'We are fully aware of anecdotal information being passed via the internet and on various websites and you may well feel this guidance is worth following. We strongly urge you to seek independent legal advice rather than rely on these opinions and we would respectively suggest that you refer to the Civil Procedure Rules part 31* and more specificallyparts 31.16 and 31.17'.
Thanks,0 -
That old chestnut. They forget to say tha "Civil Procedure Rules part 31* and more specificallyparts 31.16 and 31.17'". does not apply to the small claims court. So, basically they are lying to you.
I have complained to the BPA about this but they reckon as this is for "information purposes only" they it's OK. That just shows you what a useless organisation the BPA is.What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -

Having gone to the trouble of typing that out I assume you did put it into Google as well? Newbies type that paragraph out on here regularly, about once a month, as you will see with a quick Google search...
And all the letters are in the second thread from the top of the parking forum. Hope you are just playing snap with each letter by now? If you can't find the right Roxburghe letter listed under 'your' PPC then just look at the other PPCs who use Roxburghe. All the letters are there in the thread so you can see what to expect.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I just love their phrase, "We are aware of anecdotal information being presented via the internet and on various websites and ... this guidance is worth following". At least they can get something right.
Part 31.1(2) of the Civil Procedure Rules says, “This Part applies to all claims except a claim on the small claims track”. Parking charge cases are heard on the small claims track of the county courts. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.

Why do Private parking companies keep drawing peoples attention to this???
If they set their charges lower even more people will pay up without question, by stating "We are aware of anecdotal information being presented via the internet and on various websites" then wont that put an element of doubt in peoples minds and encourage them to find out the truth?
From the Plain Language Commission:

I wpnder if they were trying to deprecate what we do, but without actually saying that our information is inaccurate, and don't reaslise what it really says.
If they only asked non-payers for the unpaid charges, no-one could have no argument with that. But, that would not be cost-effective let alone profitable. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.

And, of course, if it was a free car-park, then there are no charges to collect. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0
