Primus Broadband - feedback wanted

Options
I'm considering signing up with Primus since they seem to have the unique combination of low prices and no traffic shaping. However the reviews around the web are varied to say the least. Could people on this board chime in with positive and negative feedback? Many thanks.

Using it at a family household on the MSE deal. Only 10GB download - should be OK for occasional e-mail, browsing, etc. But, will probably switch next year as they put up the monthly fee only 3 months after I joined! No traffic monitoring either, so if you go over 10GB it gets expensive. Shop around.
  • I would say don't do it! See my post further down.
I was looking for people's opinions on them too as Ive had a nightmare since ordering a few weeks ago :-(

    AVOID AVOID AVOID.

If - and it's a big if - the product works then great. If not, the customer service is absolutely diabolical. Long hold times, unanswered emails and once you get through they are totally inefficent.
  • I ordered the broadband and phone deal via teh MSE links. Got an email order acceptance. Then a day later, an email saying they had encountered and dificulties, would not supply - and did I want anything else!
I have emailed Primus, been on hold on the phone for ages - but have had no response to my complaint about this poor customer service.
If anyone from Primus monitors this forum I can provide you with details.

Which they are fully entitled to do-it's not a fixed price tariff, nor is any other telcoms contract.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

I presume thus that it is also not a fixed DURATION contract either? ;)
  • Awful customer service:

Took a day off work for engineer to arrive - did not turn up.
Phone and broadband did not work for over a week after "installed".
Still waiting 6 months later for a call back over mobile call charges incurred while no landline available due to above.
Never had a reply to an email, never had a call back when promised. No record of previous calls made.
Moved house 2 weeks ago, they still have not acknowledged this and I cannot get them to transfer my phone and broadband to my new address, despite several calls and emails. Really not sure how to get them to do anything about this now - looks like I'm going to have to stop paying them and then take them to the small claims court. If anyone has any advice I'd love to hear it.

I have no idea why MSE does not warn about this as I don't appear to be a one off...
