  • I have exactly the same problem as JD87 and i'm yet to solve it. At the moment, I just want to establish whether its a manufacturing fault, or i'm missing something!?

I've just bought an RFA52, for future reference to swap the hinges you need to drill the two marked points for the centre hinge 3mm, as Hotpoint technical services advice.
  • We have a Hoover fridge freezer and, when we had a new kitchen fitted, decided to reverse the doors. It took the two of us over 2 hours. A nightmare job! The instructions were simple enough, but we had to drill new holes for the hinges and prise off plastic covers which held on for grim death.

This fridge freezer has just about died now. New one arriving on Sunday with the hinges on the right again. Just read the Hotpoint reversal instructions online and they are almost identical to the Hoover ones. Having done the job once, I am not tempted to repeat it with a brand new appliance. There surely aren't enough swear words in the world to fill this job twice! Hotpoint are doing the job for me and I will furnish them with cups of teas and plenty of sympathy. Won't save me money (sorry) but will save what little sanity I have left.
