no my techie friend tells me because i had stupidly switched my phone locator off the icloud thingy won't work either?:(
went to the police station to report it and the receptionist was my patient lol!!!

    thanks i only have a moan when i am bursting/meltdown point:o:D

That's not true! As long as it was set to back up to iCloud then all your stuff should still be there. If it was set to back up to your computer then all you need to do when you get a new one is connect it to your computer, go through the set up procedure and instead of setting up as new phone select "restore from back up" and choose the latest one. Same goes if you want to restore from iCloud.

You could start from scratch by downloading all your apps again from iTunes and because you've already paid for them they will be free. You can get your music back for free too, but only if you go about it in the right way as that's not so easy to do. Only thing to remember if you start from scratch by downloading new apps you will need to set them all up again.

Celebrate, what exactly did you switch off? the 'Find Friends' app or the 'Find iPhone' app? If you switched off the latter then you won't be able to track it but if you haven't then all you need to do is find another iDevice, install the app, put your iTunes details in and away you go.
  • Sorry, had someone over for a couple of hours so went AWOL.

You had someone over what? Actually perhaps I shouldn't have asked............ :rotfl:

Did you back up/sync to ITunes at any time? your photos, music and contacts should be on there :D

Photos will only be there if she has chosen to sync them. I don't like the way syncing photos works so I choose not to have it enabled.

iTunes can be a right pain in the bum at times and many a time I've connect my iPhone and I've got "This iPhone is synced with another library. Would you like to sync it with this one?" Of course I have to choose yes which means iTunes wipes everything off the phone and reinstalls it which means it never puts my 100 or so apps back to where I had them:mad::mad:

Celebrate ... I started replying to this post yesterday but got side tracked and have just found the amongst my open tabs.

Anyway was going to say ... and maybe someone has already (I haven't seen the thread since this message) ... but have you heard of Plan B ... here's some blurb
Plan B is not the only "find my phone" application available in the Android Market, but it does have one thing going for it that several others don't: it's completely free.

Plan B is the 'find my phone' app that you download AFTER you lose your phone.

Plan B is your last resort to find your missing phone.
    ... and a link

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lookout.labs.planb

Android market apps are only for Android phones, they won't work on iPhones and iPhone apps won't work on Android phones.
