I'm totally new to OS  but this is this week's plan - I don't allocate meals to days.

    Fajitas
    Beef crumble
    Burgers and HM spiced wedges
    Sweet potato cottage pie
    Bacon cakes, sausages and beans
Creamy bacon and tomato pasta bake
Roast chicken - was meant to be a roast but flood related veg shortages turned it into chicken with cauli and veg cheese bake!

I have a blog with my ramblings and family recipes on, am I allowed to put it in my signature?

Hi savesummore! The beef rendang sounds lovely and I shall be making it :D

Had to make a change for this week to make it a bit cheaper (going to be a tight month) so on Friday we'll be having fajitas :)

    K xx

We had a quick taste tonight- it very nice hot and sweet. It doesnt make much 'sauce' though and OH said if he made it again he would pop a couple of chillis in ;)

    Hi all

Back on MSE after being away from it and decided to start organising my cooking plans, so here I am again! I am avoiding wheat bread and too many carbs in general, so the main meals don't look too carby, but they will be accompanied by carbs (alternating rice, pasta, bread, couscous) for the rest of the family.

Breakfasts: alternate days: porridge with chopped nuts and cream, yogurt with nuts, egg and mushrooms (or tomatoes) on rye bread.

Lunches: week days (also same for husband's packed lunches): lettuce tomato and spring onion salads with either cheddar, feta, boiled egg (when no egg for breakfast), tuna mayo or homemade felafel. If any soup left over from night before, soup rather than salad, with chunk of cheese for protein. Weekends: fish or vege burger/sausage in tomato sauce, or late brunch of eggs, baked beans, mushrooms, fried tomatoes, fried onions. Husband's packed lunches

    Dinners:

Monday: vegemince stuffed marrow, spring greens (plus potatoes for the family).

Tuesday: kidney bean and soya chunks chili con "carne" (rice for the family), mixed salad

Wednesday: broad beans, vege burgers/sausages (risotto with broad beans for family), sauteed kale

Thursday: Cabbage mushroom and onion stir fry with tofu (noodles for the family)

Friday: roast veg and halloumi cheese (couscous for the family)

Weekends: anything goes - not sure as everybody does their own thing.

Puddings: depending if I bake or not, there might be cake, otherwise cheap shop-bought chocolate digestives for the family, homemade yogurt (with raspberries from allotment or sliced banana and nuts), fruit (but nobody eats much fruit at home, apart from husband who takes one piece a day in packed lunch), cheese celery and nuts.
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Grated potato, finely chopped onion, chopped bacon, flour and an egg, shaped into patties and fried. My husband has this obsession with 'brinner' so I often find myself cooking stuff like this for evening meals but you could just as easily have them for breakfast!

Morning, OH and I have just returned from our hols, and have overspent  I don't get paid til next Monday, so this week my challenge is not to spend anything until next week (with the exception of possibly having to put petrol in my car (we'll see). Anyway, OH bought some basics from A$DA yesterday, so fresh food in the fridge, and my plan is to use up stuff I have in the cupboard/freezer.

Mon: Sausage in onion gravy, mash potatoes & green beans
Tue: HM chicken & mushroom pasties (from freezer) frozen
    caulifower cheese & midweek roasties
Wed: Fish fingers, cheesy mash & baked beans
Thu: HM tuna & broccoli pasta bake with melted cheese
    Fri: Eggs, chips & beans
Sat: HM Spicy sausage pasta bake
Sun: Stew (unknown)yorkshire pud, frozen peas & b/beans

Breakfasts will be toast/cereal and have got a tin of tuna, 4 slices of ham, 4 slices of bacon, 6 eggs, small tin of spaghetti hoops, block of cheese and a few portions of frozen HM soup for lunches.

Looking at this now, we wont starve. :rotfl:

Hi Loca - if you go to User CP there is a place to put your homepage (blog), but I don't think you can put it in your sig.

It's great to log on and find everyone's contributions!

Lolacocacola - we call those Bacon Cakes "Floddies". Its a traditional dish of the poor from up north. They didn't always have bacon in though, and CFR have a nice swede version on their site here where they are called "Cloddies".

Kitschy - I had a little peek at the User CP to put my own blog of recipes on, but ccouldn't spot a place for it... will have another look thanks.

    Caterina - Welcome back!

PhGage - The Peanut Chutney sounds good; how do you make it?

KitchenBunny - hope everything is ok x

And welcome to the newbies! :)
Love and compassion to all x

Hi :hello: I've been taking part in the GC thread for the past month, so this seemed a natural thread to join in to!

I don't really allocate meals to days as I tend to freeze a lot of things so they can be eaten any day. I plan around 4 main meals a week (2 meat, one night fish for me, meat for OH, one special veggie meal that needs specific ingredients) then make sure I have a few extra portions of veggies and all my store cupboard essentials so I can make veggie stir fry/curry/pasta/chilli/whatever depending on mood.

So for this week, I've planned:

Breakfasts - cornflakes for OH, weetabix for me. Might have a banana milkshake at weekend and let OH have a roll & sausage as we have frozen bananas and sausages.

Lunches - making 5 portions of carrot lentil & ginger soup today. Have two portions of puy lentil, tomato and veg soup in the freezer and I'm making HM bread to freeze in portions. I'll have soup most days, maybe leftovers a day or two or a cheese sandwich with carrot sticks one day, OH will have tuna sandwiches most of the week, maybe some soup one or two days and a pot noodle one day (blergh!).

Dinners - steak for OH tonight and HM salmon fish cakes for me with salad and new pots
Sausage, mash and cabbage one night
    Veg lasagne at the weekend
Also planning an onion tart/quiche and chicken casserole

Snacks are pears and bananas for me, crisps for OH, I'll make scones as well and we have crackers/oatcakes in plus lots of chutneys, jams and peanut butter.

The other nights I'll make veg pasta or chilli or stir fry or curry as I have all the ingredients for any of these. Good thing is if we end up eating out one night I'll make chilli/curry anyway and freeze for next week so nothing goes off. Hope this makes sense!
