I wondered why the delay is so long, on the latest property to sell in my road the boards have been down and new people in for over a month.

Worth looking at other sites, such as findaproperty or mouseprice as some are quicker at updating sold prices than others

    Haha fair play mate.

I've been right up there in the 100's before and that's not bad for house price gossip. Limited audience and mostly mongs off HPC.

Still, it must have riled up a few of them so that's good anyway.

Yeah if you want volume you've got to spread into Religion, the EU, or Samantha Brick. Or someone called Kim Kardashion? I just peruse the photos on those types of articles.

    Word of warning.
I've found Zoopla price estimations to be laughably incorrect.

I've found that Zoopla tends to undervalue a bit

Worth looking at it combined with a mixture of some of these sites to get a range of estimates:

I find the opposite. Possibly due to me living the NE.

    I agree.
Licking your finger and sticking it in the air is more accurate than zoopla's estimates

  • Interesting how the Halifax are always trying to talk the market up yet the Nationwide take a more cautious approach. I know which one I favour, perhaps we wouldn't have had such rampant house inflation if people had taken more notice of the likes of Nationwide.

Someone put me out of my misery and tell me what HPC stands for as the web addresses Google gives me for this search don't seem relevant and hpc.co.uk doesn't seem to exist.

house price crash . co . uk

A website that used to be full of great economics chat, bulls, bears and great information. Then we had the financial crisis, housing dropped in most areas and only the most hardened bears are still there. (think the opposite of Hamish)

Shame really as from 2005-2007 it was a great.

My favourite video clip ever was from that site.

    Just look:

They must have lost an absolute fortune by STR'ing in 2003

The envy towards home owners and landlords explains a lot of the bitterness and group think on that site.

If a sale has completed it will be on Land Reg immediately but it costs £4 to see it. (I think)

is that right? i thought the reason for the delay was that you had three months from completion to send the relevant form to LR, and then they have to bother to enter the details into their database.
