She was charging for an insurance service with out being licensed to do so and HMRC was informed as well.

It's pretty risky to add a "named driver" you don't know and can't trust.

If it turns out they have a poor accident or licence points record (or are disqualified) and you didn't declare it (because you didn't know), you policy could be voided on the basis of non-disclosure, if you have a serious accident and the insurers crawl over everything carefully.

  • Previous daughter BF used my details to get cheap insurance with me as named driver. Since the fall out he has gone home and took his car off the road. Now he has a new job he has put car back on road and I still don't trust him with knowing all my details and using online insurance no paperwork has come to the house but a fine of some sort (sent back unopened) aroused my suspicion.

Oh, so the 'car insurance scam' heading actually refers to YOU?

So when you were allowing him to scam the insurance company previously by giving false information, did you make it clear he was only allowed to scam them if he was still dating your daughter?
