Is my credit score any good

What is so hard to understand? Why would he be trying to fool people? Quite simply he want a CC with a high limit so he can pay in full for a £5k holiday, the only reason he is using the CC it to cover himself for any problems which may occur with the travel agents ect. if they were to go bust.
Seems like a sensible approach to spending a lot of ££ in a risky industry.
yes exactly !0 -
If you pay your cards off in full every month, why don't you simply ask your current provider for an increase in your credit limit - I did that a few months back with absolutely no problem, took five minutes over the 'phone.
i have tried this yesterday they told me i had only had my cards 9 months and that i had to wait a year for an increase , the credit cards are nat west and RBS0 -

Use £4k on cards and £1k cash for your holidays. Be careful though as your 'disposable income' will reduce to pay the cards back.0 -
Think you are all missing the point , my original question was is my credit score of 869 any good and how can i get a credit card withy a decent limit , has anyone got a credit card recently with a decent limit with a credit score similar to mine ?0

Thats unusual. The longest I've ever had to wait is 6 months.
As others have said, but you seem to be ignoring, you DO NOT have to pay for the entire holiday on a credit card for it to be protected, just a deposit. You can then pay the rest in cash, which WILL be protected under the credit card payment0 -

YOU are missing the point. Forget the credit score, its worthless!
If you are insisting on getting a new card, have you tried the nationwide 'dummy' search? That will give you a quote for a card without performing a credit search. I wouldnt necessarily recommend that card for purchases, but it will give you an indication of whether you are likely to be accepted for a better one, for example Barclaycard or M&S purchase cards.0 -
