Try virgin money, I just got one through with a £9k limit. very similar credit score of 897. 0% on purchases for 12 months also, so you can pay for your hols next year.

whats the actual name of the credit card as they do a few ?

Then you can pay a small percentage on the card , the rest in cash and still be covered by S.75

no once they have the cash off me i would find it hard getting it back if need be , possession is nine tenths of the law etc .

And right on queue its a shameless plug for my credit score generator

    Linky

That's weird - I got a score of 691 first time and then 214 next time - does that mean I'll get the AMEX Platinum - I'm not on electoral roll (can't be bothered), have a few CCJ's from last month, but I know I'm a great credit risk, I just feel it in my blood..
Never argue with an idiot. Especially not this idiot because I'm always right anyway.

You would be covered by S.75 for the full amount.

Is there more to this then you are telling us? As you seem keen to get into a world of debt for a holiday when you have credit available to you.

    i earn £3000 a month

You have your maths wrong. If your salary is £36k and assuming you don't pay into a pension you take home around £2200. This leaves you with £1800 a month after loan repayment not £2600. Also your 'disposable' income doesn't account for bills, rent, mortgage, insurance and I assume you eat.

I hazzard a guess that the best disposable you have is around £1000 a month.

What is so hard to understand? Why would he be trying to fool people? Quite simply he want a CC with a high limit so he can pay in full for a £5k holiday, the only reason he is using the CC it to cover himself for any problems which may occur with the travel agents ect. if they were to go bust.

Seems like a sensible approach to spending a lot of ££ in a risky industry.

What on earth sort of bizarre rubbish is this?

This thread is taking some very strange turns, even for this board.

If you pay your cards off in full every month, why don't you simply ask your current provider for an increase in your credit limit - I did that a few months back with absolutely no problem, took five minutes over the 'phone.
