How to post a golf umbrella?

I bought a large golf sized umbrella for my wedding and I'm looking to sell it - any idea how I can package it for postage? It's got a rounded handle so it'd need to be a wide tube - but I can't find anything suitable to buy.
Does anyone have any ideas?

We went to a carpet shop a few days ago, and got some cardboard tubes from the middle of carpets.Would your brolly fit in one.0

Document tube with a jiffy bag over the handle?0

Corrugated cardboard, brown kraft wrapping paper and lots of strapping tape. You could bubble wrap as well if you wanted.0

How about the boxes you would get to give a bottle of wine as a present. It you bought two or three of them and pushed the bottoms out and slid the umbrella through them, then packaged over the top with brown paper.
Although to be honest I don't think I would bother selling it as you would spend quite a bit on packaging .... Do they sell for enough to make that worth while....?;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)0 -
Lots of tips there for you but the best one has got to be to make sure you put it down first...0

Go to your local golf club pro and beg one of the boxes that the woods come in.
About 4 foot high by about 5 inches square0 -

I did this too when selling golf clubs. The shop was happy to help.nanto3girls wrote: »We went to a carpet shop a few days ago, and got some cardboard tubes from the middle of carpets.Would your brolly fit in one.0 -
Awesome, thanks so much for the tips! Sorry I didn't see it sooner. It's a nice umbrella (not just a plain ivory one) so whilst I don't think I'd get a lot of money for it - I want to make sure it finds a new home. As sad as that sounds!

My Dad's a golfer so will pinch him for advice first, then try the carpet shop. You're all stars thanks!!!

I've sold four umbrellas on eBay in the past, just wrapped them in a good thick roll of bubble wrap and then completely wrapped it in brown tape! They turned up fine and I didn't get any complaints or get marked down for it.0
