Can I reclaim for HSBC mortgage 2005-07

I just wanted a little bit of advice on whether or not I might be able to reclaim PPI from an old mortgage. I don't have any paperwork for the mortgage but have managed to go back to my old bank statements and found an account number for the mortgage and a direct debit called 'REPAYMENT PRO-HSBC'.
I know it was sold to us during the meetings for our mortgage as I remember our adviser asking me about my scuba diving hobby. There is also two other direct debits to HSBC which are for life and critical illness for the two of us so this repayment pro must be some other form of insurance. For the first 12 months it was £29.70 then it went up to £59.40 For the remaining 12 months of the mortgage. I added this all up and it only comes to £1095 but I still think it is worth a pop.
The only thing is I don't know what I need to do from here as I have no paperwork. Can I just walk into HSBC and ask for some paperwork or should I write using the templates? Also is it PPI? HOw can I be sure? Any advice would be gratefully received. We are about to buy a new home which needs some work doing and have our second baby on the way so any amount would be sooooooo useful.
Many thanks,

You dont need paperwork. You just need to make your complaints giving the reasons why you think they mis-sold it and any evidence that will help support the complaint. HSBC set their MPPI correctly. So, you cannot rely on a set up failure. You will need a provable complaint reason. We are about to buy a new home which needs some work doing and have our second baby on the way so any amount would be sooooooo useful.
So, will you be taking out MPPI on thie new home?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
