    As Alan says ............

Alicante, Gran Canaria, Palma de Mallorca, M!laga, Costa del Sol and Tenerife airports, passenger taxes for routes within the European Economic Area routes go from €5.70 to €5.99

Airport taxes per passenger on flights operated between Madrid and the European Economic Area go from €6,95 to €14,44, while those at Barcelona’s El Prat airport rise from €6,12 to €13,44.

Ah no need to panic then. We're flying into Girona on the 21st, booked the flights in April though.
They are cheaper now though, but with just over 2 weeks away we take the risk of costs crossing over so not worth bothering with.
Thanks all for your advice, but that email did spook me somewhat. Had one of those before and had my flights cancelled!!!

I now have 2 main concerns:

    1. What is if they advice me by email ONLY that I have to pay an extra money say 4 hours before my departure is due, online and if I am already in Spain and did not check my email they will just cancel my ticket and I will find out about this only when I get to airport!!!!

    2. Are they going to charge me £24 again for 2 people return just for having a pleasure to pay them 20 pence?

They don't charge the admin fee when paying for other add-ons for existing bookings so I'd say the answer is almost certainly no.

I guarantee the answer is no! There is no way in hell that Ryanair could ever get away with charging admin fees on their decision to take more from you!

And no, they won't just cancel your ticket (why would they? - they want as much of your money as they can get!). It seems they will automatically take the money from the card you booked it with (unless you tell them not to).

Can't help thinking the moaning should be addressed to the Spanish not any of the airlines, it's the retrospective bit that's so idiotic.
It's not retrospective as it only applies to flights in the future. It, like UK APD, is a tax paid by the airline at the point the passenger actually flies and not before then.

I've now had the email telling me how much will be charged:
    http://www.ryanair.com/en/notices/gops/120706-sp_apt_tax_en-GB

Looks like its 1.62Euro per person for me. I only hope the exchange rate is good!

Just got the same email as well, vauge is not the word here. No mention of if and how much at all. So no clude whether to cancel or stick with it now. Bar stewards!

typical spanish way of doing busienss I guess, "we're gonna increase charges", but we haven't decided by how much, dont worry, let's have a siesta and then we'll decide.

Our charge from Girona is 43c each. So won't break the bank. But next question is when do you pay it? At the airport? Nothing in the email or on the webpage tells you that bit.
Sorry if i'm being mega thick!

Sorry ignore me - just read the email again and it's taken from card used at the time, but they won't be charging you a card charge for that i hope. Our charges will only be 3.01Euro as there are 7 of us at 43c each?
