Am i entitled to refund on school trip

Yes it is. The contract is with the school. What the school does with the money paid by the OP is irrelevant. One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

I wouldn't even be requesting a refund on the holiday if any of my children had behaved to such an extent as to be banned from a school holiday. Their pocket money would be covering the cost however long it took.0

Or is the converse true - that the child by their behaviour is in breach of contract - and hence, the school is the innocent party and should not suffer a loss?0 -

So if I prepaid for a package holiday with thomas cook and my behaviour was so bad at the airport that they wouldn't let me on a plane. Would I therefore be entitled to all my money back?
By your reasoning it's unfair I miss out on both my holiday and the money. Even though it's obviously my fault. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
A false analogy.
The appropriate analogy there would be you went on the school trip, and the Ferry company refused to allow you on the boat.
A completely different situation and argument. One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0 -

No, it would be quite reasonable for a teacher to call a parent from the airport and tell them to collect their child due to unacceptable behaviour - I have seen it happen myself.0 -

It's a far closer analogy than your ridiculous puppy one! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Again, a false situation.
The difference is between bad behaviour ON the trip, and alleged bad behaviour BEFORE the trip.
Please look at the situation from a legal standpoint. The school are cancelling the contract, and by law the OP should be left in the same position as if the contract never existed. One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0 -

I refer you to my earlier post - the school are the innocent party here:mynameistallulah wrote: »Or is the converse true - that the child by their behaviour is in breach of contract - and hence, the school is the innocent party and should not suffer a loss?0 -
