using Three PAC code, early termination charge!?
- My contract was due to end on 24th July
- I rang them on 23rd of June to give them 30 days notice and to get my PAC code
- I ordered a new phone contract from Talkmobile on the 28th June and the PAC code was used on the 29th.
Three have now stuck me with a £25 early termination charge!
What the hell!? Is there any way I can dispute this? The advisor I just spoke to first said I have to use it on the last day of contract, i.e. 24th July or I would be charged early termination, then said I should use it 2/3 days before the last day i.e. 21st/22nd. She then continued to speak over me and tried to deny what she'd just said. This shocking customer service is exactly the reason I left Three in the first place.

You were in contract until the 24th July and you cancelled your contract by using your PAC on the 28th June so you owe them nearly a full month.
you should use the PAC a couple of days prior to your contract to ensure you have a little time to sort out any problems or in case there is a minor delay in setting up the new contract.0 -
How can it be the 28th of July - we are only on the 4th July today?
Besides the PAC expires after 30 days so would have lapsed by then if issued on the 23rd June.0 -
Good move from getting away from 3, I now hate them more than BT0

So you terminated the contract early, but don't want an early termination charge... what?!0

I've gone through all the charges individually with an advisor (who I had to shout at to stop talking several times), pinning them down on specific charges.
It turns out everything is above board and I actually agree with their charges, being charged for the remainder of my contract (I always expected this).
My problems stemmed from the fee I paid to unlock my phone not being shown on the account.
Then when I rang up I was by several idiot advisors that I was being charged for the remainder of my contract AND an early termination fee.
They then told me a way to avoid the charge which was impossible to adhere to (you must use your PAC on the last day of your contract, it will then take 24-48 hours to process, which would put me into a new contract.
It annoys me that it's taken over an hour just to clarify lies which were put into my head by their staff in the first place.
Glad to be rid of Three!0
