it was developed in classic .asp, i'm an old school programmer0

As you'll know, asp renders as HTML, so unless you know some terms that specifically would render on the login page, odds are slim.
On the plus side, we're talking about fewer hosts who will still host classic ASP, I suppose. How would they have got hold of the source/application though? The ISAPI filter for ASP specifically renders the ASP as opposed to handing out the source?0 -

Your post is a little confusing as it talks about a 'program' you developed so I don't know if this is a CMS application you've built from the ground up or just a PHP script. If the former, you may have problems searching web indices for it.
they have hidden the site very well eg not using the company name/directors/ email accounts to register the website i have checked but nothing0 -

the source code was hosted on their 1and1 account which i setup for them so that they could use their company web address so they simply logged in to their account and coppied the files then opened another account on 1and1 and paisted it there. i kept the database on my account, i assume that they have some one with a little knowledge and simply made another database on the new site. tried support/legal @ 1and1 but they wont help without a web address.0 -
How about this - as far as they know, the only public page is the logon page, however the other asp pages must be visible (even if they bounce you to the logon page without the session cookie). As such, if you know one of the page names, and it is distinctive, you hunt search for that.
If the app/site is behind a logon page, then those pages will not show up to any spiders, and I doubt they'll have bothered to update their robots.txt. Hmmm.
How about the favicon? Did you have a custom one they may still be pulling from your server? You'd want as much logging switched on as possible for the referring URL for the favicon (or whatever they may be pulling by accident).
If they're on 1-and-1 and you know this for a fact, how about doing a reverse DNS lookup on their public-facing IP addresses and look for likely candidates? Then you can make sure by checking for that obsucrename.asp page which would either 404 (not your site) or redirect to the login page (gotcha!)
How's that sound?0 -

thanks some realy good ideas i will try them out tonight and let you know.0 -
thanks for all the replies as far as searching for pages and images, the copied site has only as far as i know been on a couple of weeks so i dont think the spiders have found them yet none of the ims or pages are returning in the searches,
i have tried a dns reverse look up again nothing as they have opened another account which will be on 1and1s many servers, the search did return quite a few sites which i went through anyway another brick wall
i searched domaintools/whois apparently the email address has another account registered to it and to see it i need to pay i think this will be a dead end, so i will leave this as my last resort
i guess ill have to wait for the spiders to pick up some content.
any more help would be appreciated.0
