I used a claims company to act on my behalf last year to reclaim some ppi, they were suucesful in a few but failed in there attempt with direct line, they sent me a letter saying this, and in disgust i tore up letter, this bugged me so i dealt with direct line myself, and 6 months later i won and received a nice cheque, i believe that direct line informed my ppi company, and now they are hassling me for there cut, when they did nothing they keep phoning, writing letters, i try and ring but they wont listen what can i do:mad:

Did you write to them to cancel the contract?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. No
but they are denying that they sent me a letter stating that they can do no more for me as direct line said i dint have ppi,but after a lot of digging myself i as i said won and had a cheque so that letter should be in there records, or have they destroyed it???
just wondering if i could get in touch with direct line and get hold of the original letter sent to my ppi company0 -
Direct Line will tell you that it is between you and the claims company. The redress will come to you. The claims company will then likely start legal action against you via small claims court if you refuse to pay. Their contracts are generally pretty tight on this.but they are denying that they sent me a letter stating that they can do no more for me as direct line said i dint have ppi,but after a lot of digging myself i as i said won and had a cheque so that letter should be in there records, or have they destroyed it???
You should see the amount of lies that claims companies frequently put on their complaint letters. So, it should come as no surprise if they extend those lies to their customers. If you swim with sharks you will get bitten.
I would approach this by asking Direct Line if they can provide evidence that they rejected the complaint originally. If you can get this then it shows the claims company failed. That will be strong evidence as you didnt continue that complaint but started a new one. Although Direct Line may not have opened a new complaint. They shoudlnt have. They should link them. If it is linked, then it will be a continuation of the original complaint and as you never cancelled the contract with the claims company then they would have a very strong case to be paid.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
