But if your not financially linked on Equifax then barclaycard would be your best one which Also does a PRE-selected quote.
Financially linked on all CRAs.
Already applied for a loan via Nationwide and the soft search gave me the lowest 6.3% rate however when I applied I was referred then declined
They must only look at financially linked people in the full search) Therefore I would expect a very similar story if I applied for the CC via Nationwide. However it would be interesting to see what limit they would give me I suppose.
I was looking for someone who searched Equifax as the nationwide search is only on Experian.
Don't really want to run out of searches chasing something that I'm not going to get but I will try one more or should I forget it and try one of the subprime ones - the Aqua cashback card would work just the likely very low limit isn't perfect for cover on my trip to the states.0 -
Try creation card that only search Equifax and do give some decent limits.0

i am financially linked through a joint bank account for our household bills, it has shown up on both experian and noddle.
When i applied for an MBNA card i was declined and the reason given was because of someone i was financially linked with, so i would avoid MBNA application.
I am also weary of applying to my own bank as Mrs biggest debt was with them HSBC, and we did have a joint account with them, which we had to close when she started her DMP to avoid them setting off.
i think she definitely has a negative impact on my rating but i am still able to obtain mainstream credit cards/loans though not best possible rates0 -
also about 20 months ago did soft search came out 5/10 barclaycard figured what the hell and applied got accepted 10k limit only 18months transfer back then though but that was my big turning point in starting to pay off my debts0

Thanks for that, I'll avoid MBNA then!
Did you get instant online acceptances or were any decisions referred? Noticed you mentioned RBS and Halifax earlier so perhaps I should try one of those - Halifax Clarity would suit me due to it's zero overseas loading. Any pointers to loan companies that might be sympathetic?
Thanks.0 -
Had a loan application accepted with santander but twice the apr so didn't take it, only way to find out is to apply all accepted on the spot, one or two searches won't hurt so give it go, credit limits I got were barclaycard 10k Halifax 3.6k and rbs 5k hope that helps0
