A little OT of sorts but I was on another forum the other day US based and some credit cards in the US will make up the difference if the price drops in a specified time period. Made me wonder if we would end up with a similar sort of deal over here at some point in the future or if there was a specific reason why they did this.

PcWorld/Currys do this. If the price drops or if you find another retailer selling for less then you have 7 days to get the difference (plus 10% of the difference if it's another retailer)

Or is entirely down to the shops own policy?

I had this done through Autoquake a few years ago; bought a car to taxi, they had one in about a week later that was higher spec, lower mileage, same age for about £1000 cheaper. I know that it was down to their own policy (30 days/1000 miles) rather than legislation. (I hadn't got the car plated by this point).

You can try it, but whether it works or not, I don't know.

Success. The store Rub-A-Dub in Glasgow (Music Technology Store) have agreed to refund the difference - £31.
I had bought NI Maschine (Groove production studio) for £360 (I had already done a price match deal with them, as they were selling it for £499, could buy it elsewhere online for £350. It has now been reduced to £329 by the company for the whole of July)

    Very pleased!!!!

Also Urban Outfitters do the same, I bought a Jacket that was £100 in the January sale, then reduced further to £80 a few days later. Took my receipt in and they refunded the difference no problem.

Good result. Nice to see some decent customer service.
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.
