Bought an item at full price, now 3 days later its on sale, can I get the difference refunded.
Or is entirely down to the shops own policy?

There is no obligation to refund in such circumstances. You could return the one you bought full price, and re-purchase at the reduced price, if the difference is worth the hassle.

Shop policy only. You could try returning it if allowed and buying it again. If you have used it then it is unlikely they will accept the return.

It's the same with supermarkets you could buy food at £1.69 then the next day it's on sale at £1. You can't return it.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

Had the price gone up by a tenner and the shop asked for the difference, what do you think you would say?

Sorry but common sense has to kick in at some point. Any law requiring the difference refunded would be significantly unfair to business' and just plain ridiculous.

Arcon5, its all about a shop getting repeat business. Lots of stores have it as a policy as its good business sense to keep your customers happy.
I just wasn't sure if it was part of your consumer rights.
I'll be phoning the shop tomorrow. Thanks for the advice everyone.

That was my first thought too, and I know Amazon used to but I'm not sure if they stopped it. As for all the "lots" of others, I'm stuck ... ;)

Javari (part of Amazon) refund it if they put the price down within two weeks of you buying it.

Few stores do...most don't...is that what you meant?
