spread sheets

Hi, does anyone know where I could print out a free(without downloading) spread sheet, I am trying to get organised with the finances once and for all, nearly everthing is on direct debits now, so I just want to make a record of when it all comes out, and keep an eye on all the incomings and outgoings easily,trying to clear my debts, but need to get orgainised first, so if anyone can help I would be very grateful thankyou.

    I've made myself up a excel spreadsheet for my bank account: date, details, in, out, balance. Really easy to do and I update it every time money goes in or out of the bank so I have an up-to-date balance of my account, without having to wait on online banking to update.

    Very much so. I've recently started a spending diary too so any cash I lift from an atm I can see exactly what I'm spending it on.

    I have a sheet where I put in my balance and it subtracts all the bills for the month and tells me what is left. I mark the bills as paid as i check them off from online banking.

    This was I can always tell how much money I actually have and not how much I can withdraw...

    Yes, I do that too, and what's left I divide by 4 so I know exactly how much I have to spend a week. Otherwise I'd spend half on week 1, half of what's left in week 2, and by week 4 I'm living on nothing!! :p

    Huh? Do you want it on your computer or to write on? It's much easier on the computer. I made my own, personally. It's best to time your direct debits to come out soon after you get paid then you know that by the 5th, for example, of the month everything left is free to go towards debt/savings/pocket money.

    I'm assuming you don't have Excel on your home PC, yes? Have you tried using Open Office? It has a free spreadsheet program that mimics Excel.

    Or are you looking for something on the go? If you have a smart phone, there are free spreadsheet apps. The one I use is a bit clumsy but does in a pinch.

    I don't know of a secure, free, web-based spreadsheet, but you could always do the open office one and store it in a web-based email account (e.g. Yahoo, gmail, Hotmail, etc).

    :) Just a quick heads-up, hun, from my days doing admin for debt advisors; there are are more than 4 weeks in a calendar month.

    1 week = 7 days
    4 weeks 28 days
    28 x 12 months = 336 days in a year not 365.

    Difference is 29 days or just over 4 weeks. If you always convert a month's money into 4 weeks you'll end up 4 weeks adrift over the course of a full year.

    You can quick n' dirty it by dividing monthly income by 4.33 weeks, or do it more accurately - converting monthly into weekly by multiplying by 12 and dividing by 52. HTH. :)

    Another alternative is to divide by 5 and then you'll have 4 weeks money left at the end of the year.
