We have no idea what grounds you complained on or why the complaint was rejected so we cannot give any meaningful guidance at this stage.

Not sure what advice you want. Do you want to know that the Bank have rejected your complaint? The answer is yes, that's what they mean by "defended".
Wait for their letter which will detail exactly why they have not upheld.
  • Thank you for your replys, sorry for being so vauge it's all rather messy'. Last year I received a statement from Natwest Credit Card Services with an outstanding balance, as I hadn't used the card for a few months I called them, they informed me it was for a policy I had on the account I asked them to cancel the policy and refund the amount charged, which they did I was then transfered to another member of staff to cancel the policy, which they also did.

A couple of months ago I received another statement showing a very small sum outstanding I called them again and they informed me it was my PPI, I explained to them that I had cancelled this last year and I had no knowledge of ever taking it out, I was told I had been paying it since 2001, I was given a telephone number to call to place a complaint which I did, I had avery brief telephone conversation with someone then I received a letter in the post. I rang as soon as I received the letter as I didn't feel that I had covered everything and assumed they would have sent me some sort of form to complete, they assured me they were now looking into the matter and would contact me within the specified time scale

As I previously posted I contacted them today to be told my claim had been defended and I would receive a letter from them. Should I proceed with this claim, what are my chances?

    Many Thanks

Wait until you receive the letter and if you post up what they have said you will get more help.
  • Hello again and thank you all for replying to my first post, I have now recieved my reply from Natwest, basically they are saying I was refused my refund beacuse, I receive monthly Credit Card Statements and I was sent a Certificate of Insurance.

I do not recall receiving this Certificate of Insurance, they have sent me a photo copy of one, unsigned, and they have sent photocopies of Credit Card Statements, one in 2001 shows Credit Card Payment Protector, the second 2011 which shows V Payment Protector.

I am so confused because I had a seperate Insurance Policy on this account that I was aware of, it protects me if my Cards are loss or stolen, it's not PPI. It is all so confusing, i'm not sure it I should continue with this claim or if I am intitled to a refund.

    Thank you

What was your reason for complaint?

What evidence did you have to support that complaint?
