Primus and Uswitch

Hi Everyone,
When I signed up to Primus saver 2 last year I was able to sign up through uswitch and therefore get cashback via quidco for signing up to it - I've just recommended to a friend to do this but can't find Primus saver 2 on uswitch (they're only advertising something called Primus Talk 1 which doesn't look as good as saver 2 - is it?) So what I'm wondering is if there's any way to still get cashback for signing up to Primus saver 2 or is is now not possible? Thanks for any help.
Regards
Michelle

As Martin pointed out in THIS THREAD, the option available via Uswitch is almost identical and a tiny bit better - but fiddly!
The 'proper' Primus Saver Option 2 was previously available via Uswitch - so it may return if you can wait.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Thanks for the link Heinz - your help is much appreciated as always! So from what I can gather it's probably just better to sign up direct to Saver 2 then as after the first 12 months you'll be getting charged £1.49 a month so after 2 years you will have negated whatever cashback you got in the first place! This plus the fact that it's pretty fiddly means I'll just recommed my friend to the saver 2 option. Thanks.

I called and signed up yesterday - without the fiddly bit! They seem very relaxed on the phone I must say, thought I'd called the guy in his bed0

Hi Heinz,
Yeah I was factoring the £16 cashback into that as if you got the £16 plus the £2 that would be leftover from their quarterly bonus thing for the first year and then continued paying the £1.50 for another year that would amount to paying around £18 thus cancelling the cashback out - Have I got that right? If that's the case then it's not worth the hassle overall I think.
Hi 1882 - Yes they seemed very nice on the phone to me last year when I set it up too.

Yes, simplicity Vs. hassle-factor too close to call now. I'd take the easier option myself if I was starting again.
OTOH, it might be worth waiting until the week after next to see whether the Uswitch offering changes in early April. They were offering the 'real' Primus Saver Option 2 late last year - so it may return.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Doh! Of course you'd taken that £16 into account (read what she wrote H).
:rotfl:
Yes I was lucky enough to get the real Saver 2 through quidco and uswitch last June (I did it for both lines in my house too which meant double the cashback .) I might tell her to hang fire til the start of April just in case then but I think if it doesn't change I'd advise her to just go the simple route too. If it was possible to just switch to the saver 2 option from the Talk 1 option that would be good but I've got a feeling they wouldn't be allowing that!! Thanks for the help!
