I've just read the guide to saynoto0870 where it provides a link to an app called 0870 by Simon Maddox. This app hasn't been updated since July 2010 so I was wondering if there were newer or better alternatives or whether the 0870 app is still the one of choice. It has very mixed reviews on iTunes with people either giving it 5 or 1 star. I suspect a lot of the 1 star reviews to be posted by idiots though.

Anyone coming towards the end of their contract may be interested to learn that T Mobile now include the majority of 08 numbers in the free minutes of their contract tariffs (excluding the Full Monty package).

Hopefully other phone companies will take notice and follow suit.

In the mean time I just search the Say No to 0870 site for any alternative numbers as many large companies have a range of numbers for different departments to choose from.

Good advice, but this, I assume, is just a combination of the other three skycom apps put into one for ease of use and costing 69p.

    0800 Wizard
    0844 Wizard
    0845 Wizard

    The above are all free.

I also have a Safari short cut to http://www.saynoto0870.com/

Having to ring 08 numbers used to !!!! me off before, now I get a strange sort of satisfaction from sidestepping the costs. :D

The 0845 wizard and I assume 0844 require you to do in-app transactions to give you credit to make the 0845 calls. It's !!!!!. The one JHP linked to provides alternative numbers which I assume uses a database similar, if not the same, as sayno0870

Ah, my bad, I've only used the 0800 wizard so far, I just assumed the other two to be identical in set up
